  2. Hi, We have used carpet on the roof and some walls on our boat for the last 20 years with no problem, we stick the carpet to the roof about a foot at a time leaving about 2 inch all round for final fittine and fixing when all the roof has been stuck, dont worry about any overspray onto the walls as it will wipe off with white spirit. Robin.

  9. I was always told in a 4 cylinder engine with 2 valves per cylinder you always used the count of 9, that is when no 1 valve is fully opened you set no 8 no 2 open set no 7 and so on, by open I mean the valve is open. Hopes this helps, Robin

  19. Hi Antares_9, follys is the only boat we use antifoul on so thought we would try a cruising/freshwater antifoul, will now have to give it a try for this year as it arives tomorow. one tip I was given was if you want to use red antifoul put a coat of blue on first then 2 coats of red, then when you can see the blue you know its time to do it again but you still have antifoul left on the hull. Robin.

Hi Ian, we fitted a Mikuni to Claypits a few years age and used the fitting they supplied, the hole through the hull is about 2 inch diameter with the exhaust through the center about 1 inch diameter, we have had no trouble with this and no blistering of the paint round the fitting. The exhaust pipe is around 6ft long and is lagged its full length. it is also verry quiet from outside. Robin
