  1. Got 3500w inverter mate. Peaks at 600o plus electric oven mate and microwave. See ya soon. Jay n Jo
  2. Need an original manual for a Connoisseur Class 38ft Broads Cruiser originally made by Potter Haylett in the late 1960's. Also any info on bleeding a Webasco Diesel Heater? Many thanks JayKay
  3. I agree these are good radio's having owned a couple of UV5-R's, However as pointed out in the post these tx in the Amateur 2m and 70cm bands which you cannot do without a licence from OFCOM. Also you cannot use these for PMR as the law states that the ERP must not be over 0.5w and not have a removable antenna! You may be better off getting a pair from Asda, Tesco, Argos or Maplin as they usually do a pair for around the £20 mark. I'm Licenced so have all sorts programmed in, some to listen too only and others to transmit. The local Amateur Repeater at Lowestoft is on 433,500mhz input and Norwich 433.000mhz. You can listen to the Broads Patrol boats on 162.500mhz & 162.500mhz if you enjoy listening to the BA checking that our boats are Toll Compliant. If you do get the data cable or are near Lowestoft or Northern Broads this week coming i'll gladly program in all local frequencies for you with my cable. With this you also get the names displayed and not just frequencies. Give me a shout on PMR 1 as monitor it most of the time. Good luck and regards Jay M6JPK
  4. We used them on Genus for our first pump out and found it an easy experience apart from hitting the stop button as soon as i put my token in but after explaining my mistake was given another by the shop. But as an answer to the posters question, yes we did have to use our own Blue which luckily we had onboard.. It's my local pump out as moored at Somerleyton and can always stop over for a pint if the pub is open. Shop a bit pricey but I love it at WRC. My dog's ashes are sprinkled under the willow tree with some planted bulbs that still come up after 3 years. It was her favourite stop over and would love it when we moored up there. Make sure you check the electric points for left over credit so you can plug in to watch a bit of TV or Use the Microwave!
  5. I agree that you can't get a better breakfast if you don't mind the Buffet Style where you can pop back up for some more if you want. Coffee not included in the price of £5.00 per person but enough fruit juice is just as good after those morning Coffee's onboard before settting out to eat. If you stay overnight moored up there is a money off deal.. Worth a visit but I would prefer to cook my own while the misses takes the controls and have something nice and Fresh.. JayKay ~ Genus!
  6. Many thanks, we genuinely need to sell her because of the costs of keeping 50ft of Boats on our Marina, plus can't use 2 at a time. As I said in the advert feel free to come and meet to discuss and any decent genuine offer will be considered. Great Forum, I love the reading. Look out for us Onboard Genus over Whitsun as going North for a break. Happy Boating 2015 JAYKAY

  8. Just bought a drum (210ltrs) from Rix Petrolium at a cost of £160 so only paying 60p a ltr with 5% VAT... Just a hassle filling drums and outting in then adding my white to make her legal with the fuel split. Make sure you keep the reciepts just incase. If you buy 500ltrs thats 3 drums straight from the tanker you get it down to 49p a ltr. Don't use Heating Oil even though its dyed red as its not got the lubricants etc in to keep ya engine sweet. To someones cost at our mooring he found out the hard way and had a nice engine rebuild bill. No saving there in the long run. Just got back from 8 days on Southern and despite the thunder on day one had a lovely chilled week and only saw about 5 other boats out and about. Happy boating! Jay Kay
  9. Cruised up there yesterday at 3pm and The Clipper showed between 0.6m up to 1.5m. Deepest in middle and can get shallow quick on edges. BA been out cutting reeds to improve visibility the last weeks. Try Rockland St Mary passage in nicely dredged and good depth..
  10. Tuesday was VERY High Tide at WRC, with river coming just over sides of mooring! Made for a awkward step off for the Mrs but after down with the step and all ok! Rest of the week tides have been lower so must of been Spring tides and coinciding with the Full Moon.

    WiFi Hotspots

Been away cruising the Southern from Somerleyton onto Norwich & Back stopping off for 5 nights on the way. No mobile signal on O2/GiffGaff until nearing Norwich although was able to access Wifi Hotspots ~ BTOPENZONE etc... So has been a gods end for updating our trip on Social Media. Good Openzone in Loddon, Some in Brundall but apart from that been nice to be away from the tech that runs our lives! Keep an eye on Diary as written Log for our week away over Guy Fawkes! Jay & Jo x
