  1. When I used to be on the Broads in the 70's and 80's there was Hamilton's Navigations, a book my Dad used to use as his "bible". It was a mine of information for cruising/sailing on the Broads with moorings, hazards etc but it doesn't appear to be around these days. Is there anything similar that people use instead these days? Jon
  2. Welcome to the new forum members. I'm fairly new myself and can attest to it being a very informative and friendly place!
  3. Hi VetChugger, I agree, that would be the best solution, unfortunately they are firmly stuck in the album. J
  4. Hi Captain, Thanks and welcome to you too. Funnily enough my wife came back from seeing my mum yesterday with two photo albums that have a number of old Broads photos in them. Unfortunately Dad stuck them to the album, but I'll see if I can photograph them with my phone and see if they come out ok. J
  5. Hi Iain, Thanks very much. I'm originally from Forres, but moved south when I was 6 months old so my Scots is not so broad! Good to "meet" you. Best wishes Jonnie
  6. Hello Charlie (and Inge) Many thanks! Best wishes Jonnie
  7. Hi Alan, Many thanks, I'm looking forward to it! Best wishes Jonnie
  8. Hello Hockham Admiral, Many thanks. We've gone for Rhapsody in October and Melody next May, both from Richardson's. I've only been on centre cockpit cruisers before so I am looking forward to some thing different. Best wishes Jonnie
  9. Hi Ian, That sounds like the perfect antidote to this particular bug! All best Jonnie
  10. Hi Riyadhcrew, thanks, it seems a very friendly place.
  11. Thanks Spider. Sad to see Aston is no more, along with a number of other yards.
  12. Hello all. Just popping in to say hi. I used to holiday on the Broads from 1971 - 1986 with my parents - Aston & Summercraft and latterly becoming a member and then crewing and mating on Albion before we moved down to Dorset in 1986. I can't believe it has been 30 years, but I have booked a holiday for the family next May. Within a few days we decided that was too long to wait, so we've also booked this October half term as well! I can't wait to introduce my own lads to the Broads. Anyway, hello one and all. Jonnie
