The NBS marina opposite the boatyard advertises a "live Webcam" . I hope they adjust the views to show the centre of the marina as they used to, so we can keep an eye on our baby as promised. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

Thanks, BB, that's a much clearer image too. It would be good if you could stop on the centre portion of the marina too, as it used to (so we can sit and admire our boat on rainy days). Ta very much. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

But is AHW at Gt Yarmouth recorded as having increased over the past 50 years, and is this reflected at PH? The IPCC thinks sea level will rise by about 3m this century, although in fact it's no more than an inch or two. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

Be interesting to find out if the changes in tidal range at PH reflect to any extent what has happened to HWL at Gt Yarmouth over the years.

"I promise to do my best to do my duty to God and the Queen, to keep the law of the Wolf Cub Pack, and to do a Good Turn to somebody every day. " - as far as I can recall from 1953! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

Globular is defined as "globe shaped or spherical", so either way round the adjective is superfluous. Just sayin'. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

So - the big question: why do the continuously welded rails through the entire railway network not buckle as frequently as the ones at the bridge? Is it exacerbated by the bridge itself expanding, or is it the bridge mechanism rather than the rails which is at fault?

£350 Xl Inflatable Dinghy For Sale
High6 replied to RedRover's topic in Boats and accessories for Sale
Hi, have you sold your dinghy? Sent from my A1-811 using Tapatalk -
Please forgive my naivete, but haven't we always had hot weather in summer? So has the bridge always failed to open when the weather is hot? If not, when did it start and what has changed? Today we repair and restore steam engines and cars more than a century old. When I started as a trainee computer engineer in the 1960s I sometimes worked on complex mechanical machines from the 1890s still in daily use. Surely it is not beyond the wit of modern man capable of orbiting a satellite around the sun, or designing the Falkirk Wheel, to analyze this simple mechanical problem properly and find a solution which doesn't involve tearing the whole lot down. A £million should more than cover it. This is either sheer laziness or an excuse for some other political decision. Let's get a sense of proportion.

In the 60s that would be the Saltbox or the Nightingale. More recently the Spitfire, but don't know if any of them are still there. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

Thanks, both, getting the picture now. There are no metal pieces in sight and only one plastic insert, so it's definitely a visit to Haines. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
