  1. Although we don't have a four footed companion ourself it's nice to see Rickos showing a commitment to a all inclusive "family" holiday with a new boat that is dog friendly. Fortunately with the joys of the tech teak as well though post pet stay change over clean up should be a nice and quick affair for them, good mop and deck scrub and jobs a good one. Not that I've ever had a boat from Rickos that has ever been anything but immaculate on collection day anyway.
  2. It's a funny old world, we've just booked her today for September 2014 for ten nights I know that's over a year away, but like they say, always good to have something to look forward to
  3. Hmmm I am sorely tempted to send him a cheeky little PM and asking tee hee. We know the boat we want and it's definately getting booked on Sunday, but if Senor Ricko wants to be a very nice man, I really won't complain or argue lol
  4. I did indeed, it was actually one of the things that got my rear end in gear to get back over here I have indeed, which is fab Must say the new digs are looking brilliant, nice clean bit of design work on the banners and the forum set ups themselves. Very much liked
  5. Mark, it's just been somewhat nuts at work, but it pays the bills and is making 10 nights on the broads next year doable so can't really complain.........well not too much anyway
  6. Stunning piece of design as always Clive. Won't lie it's not one for me, but as most have probably gathered by now I'm a die hard fan of the canopy cruisers....having said that I might ask for a sneaky peak of the build shed when we are down in 2014.......well it would be rude not. Stu
  7. Duely noted for next time John and Mary. Next time incidentally being September next year. Unfortunately we just couldn't make it work this year with the other halfs open uni course and my work commitments so although we dearly wanted to come back this year we'e had to settle for 2014. Just waiting for funds to clear now and we'll be booking Moon Voyager for a 10 night run next September Stu
  8. Welcome to the forum Jeff. Nice to see another Rickos regular popping up..........although can I count myself as a Rickos regular with a four year gap between the last two bookings and a 2 year gap from my last and next one?
  9. Evening all, Just wanted to say sorry for vanishing since October, life has been somewhat hectic, but now I'm back, Large as life and twice as ugly Stu
  10. Just seen on one of the other forums they were after an annual rent of £38k?!? Would love to know what the management firm have been smoking. I would anticipate that sort of rent on a relatively high turnover town centre pub but certainly not what is in effect a community local (albeit one with bags of potential)
  11. Trust me Clive, if I had the cash to buy in I would in a heartbeat, obviously Richardsons staff and forum members would get a nice discount on food, my exquisite company comes free.
  12. Day 6 - The return to the North and revisiting Acle Well here we were, day 6, and only one day remaining and only one thing was on our mind today, returning to the Northern Broads. We had enjoyed our brief little break at the southern broads and I had made the decision that next year when me and Mr Ellis return next year (Clive if you could lift the no all male party clause on Carousel for a week next year, ta muchly) we'd actually go straight down South from day one and spend the bulk of the week there. The crossing was pretty uneventful, we had the nice broads authority gents meet us midway across Braydon just to check our draft to make sure we would get under the bridges at Norwich, which we did completely trouble free. We made our way back towards Acle the plan being to hopefully get another little bit of cruising under our belt and do a over night stop at Thurne. Unfortunately though time played against us and we ended up mooring for the night at Acle. As we sat and watched the sun set we made our way over to the Bridge Inn for dinner. Say what you want about the Bridge Inn I do have to say their food offering is the best it has been for years, although draft prices are a bit on the steep side, £3.95 for a pint of cider is whatever way you cut it a lot. But enough of the bad, on to the good. Fuelled on a excellent fish pie we returned to the boat and sat on the stern seat, cigar in hand, glass of wine in the other and set the world to rights. As I settled into bed for the night my only regret was that the day was almost over, which means the holiday is almost over and I would need to hand Broadsman back. Oh we'll there is always next year.
  13. Lol Which white horse would that be Clive? I'm assuming Upton near Ranworth?
  14. That would solve everything in one foul swoop. Lol I'm actually giving some consideration to doing my personal licence certificates, was meant to do them about 8 years ago and then the pub management company I was working for went into receivership which pretty much knocked that idea dead
