Selling my first boat. I've just bought a bigger one & can't afford the mooring fees of two. As a first boat, these are great. Not fast, regardless of what the original brochures claim, but very safe with nearly half the displacement in the keels as ballast the boat will not get pushed over easily. I've never had to reef in the sails, even when out in a force 6. Probably should have done as it would've made the sailing easier, but where's the fun in that? I have taken to the sea in this, but mostly she's been on the Norfolk Broads. Good points: New mainsail (Jeckells Sails) 2014. New genoa (Sanders Sails) 2014. Working jib age unknown, I don't use it. Storm jib looks ok, I've never used it. No spinnaker. New standing rigging 2014 - probably didn't really need to, but did anyway. New gooseneck. Furling boom, complete with handle! Mainsail cover included. Over-boom cover included A-frame for lowering the mast Very useful for getting under bridges. Undersides grit blasted (several years of old, thick antifoul paint) epoxy painted up to the water line, primed & painted hull, 2014. Rewired 2015, new switches & navigation lights. Anchor light & motoring light added. Compass included Cabin leak located & repaired. External grab handles & hatch slides removed, sanded & revarnished - look much better than in the photo. Windows removed, cleaned, re-sealed & replaced. Boat Safety Scheme certificate renewed 2016 - valid until 2020 Bad points: Cabin insides could do with lining. Cosmetic, really. Rubbing strake needs fixing back on. probably better to replace it, but I've been sailing without it for the last couple of years - just been using the fenders. There's a lack of internal upholstery, probably due to the (now fixed) cabin leak. I've not bothered to replace it as I've never stayed out overnight. The compass has no bracket & is therefore not fixed in place or wired in for its light. Battery not included - Probably better to get a new one anyway. I had an old one from the scrap yard for a tenner. Outboard is manual start & has no charger. so would only run the lights for night cruising - Possible, but not recommended on the Broads - can't see where you're going! Summary Good little boat for learning to sail & playing around. Lots spent on getting her up to shape - Could be made better, but more than ready as she is. Presently sited on moorings at Oulton Broad. There is a trailer, if wanted, but as it was made from an old caravan, it's not really strong enough to carry the boat very far. Cash on collection.
