Our 7 year old Hyundai Tucson went into Upminster Hyundai today for a “core service” and MOT. £169 later we have a new MOT and 12 months pretty comprehensive breakdown cover - including home start, roadside assistance etc and if they can’t fix it 2 day replacement car.

I hope so! By all accounts the yard is a bit underwater. Last weeks owners came home early. Wellies certainly needed to get to the boat at the moment!

When I rang Admiral to cancel the auto renewal they wanted to go through it all to get me a better price. I refused and told them they should have offered me the best price in the first place- never, ever auto-renewal without shopping around first!

We had two cars on a multi car policy with admiral, renewal in mid October. Last year - £650 for both. Renewal this year for both £1,150. Nothing has changed in the policy. Now they are separate policies with Tesco for a total cost of £720. I seem to have lost all sense in what things are worth these days!

Rockland Dyke was one of our favourite spots when Thunder was moored down south. last time we visited we moored in pretty much that spot 👍🏻 and the hireboat moored next to us had thrown its engine oil all around the engine bay. It was a bit of mess😬

We were moored at Ranworth earlier on in the season and Hire boat pulls in next to us. They ask how to use the electric, we tell them and off they go to the shop to buy the cards. I show them how to put the 1st pound but apparantly “they needed to charge phone and run hairdryers” so they add another £4. They left 3 hours later with £4.70 credit still left 🤷‍♂️

There was a time they used to park them the other side of the river in the old Moores yard. I assumed they had an insurance policy that allowed them to drive the cars on the road.
