Vaughan
Right, here is a basic plan for starters. It is fixed by the tide in Yarmouth on the Monday and Friday but the rest is very flexible! Sunday 10th. Pick up boat AM. Lunch in Sutton Staithe or Ludham Dog. Evening in Acle or Stokesby. If no mooring, supper on board at Stracey. Monday 11th. Through GYYS 0900 at slack water. on to Brundall to pick up Wussername, 'is missiz and 'is old faithful bottle opener. Hopefully he will leave his faithful old conker in the pockets of his shorts. Trip round Surlingham Broad and supper at Coldham hall. Tuesday 12th. On to Thorpe (low tide 1130) and overnight on the Green with supper in the Buck. Wednesday 13th Leave Thorpe AM on falling tide, for Lunch in Surlingham Ferry, and overnight at Rockland. Thursday 14th. Fairly free day, taking in Brundall, maybe Loddon or Cantley and evening in Reedham. Maybe lunch in Beauchamp Arms. Friday 15th. Through GYYS at 1300 for overnight in Wayford Bridge if there are moorings. If not in Stalham, in the clubhouse of the Broadland Chalet Park, just over the road from Richardsons. Saturday 16th. Take back boat - boo hoo! May need to drown our sorrows in Wayford Bridge at lunchtime. This is very flexible, so those wishing to join this parade, please add your ideas! Dress optional. Bring bird and bottle.
LizG
I think I might like to make an attempt to come along. All depends on whether the film star is available and the crew wants to come but it might be nice to get away - having had so many other holidays this year.
Broads01
Looks good Vaughan. The last afternoon looks a long slog, probably would have to be non-stop to comfortably make Wayford. I'd be tempted just to go as far as Ludham Bridge and get up earlier Saturday morning (as I did last time round).
Vaughan
I reckon we should be there around 1800 all being well. I didn't rely on Ludham in case there are no moorings. Richardson are fully booked that week!
LizG
I just managed to arrange a trip south with friends and realised the week I have arranged is the next week to that of the trip being discussed above - oh bother! Never mind there is always next year!
Vaughan
We shall be sorry to miss you again Liz. There's always next spring!
Vaughan
This is just a reminder that Susie and I will be on the water on Swan Romance, from Sunday week, 10th September until the 16th. Plan will be the same as posted above and we look forward to joining up with any members who are around at the time. There will be French wine in abundance, Minervois rouge or rosé! The NBN pennant will be flying, at least until we forget to lower it for Thorpe bridge! We are leaving here tomorrow by camper van and look forward to our holiday! 7
