Head Filling With Water

Well, I take back what I said, having replaced the pump on the head it leaked like a sieve so is currently back in the workshop. It appears that the pump top cover has cracked, this is possibly due to the plastic becoming brittle even though it is fairly new, copious quantities of epoxy on the cracks left to dry overnight..... Another go today...... tried to fit the horn that failed to as the mounting is too wide, judicious use of the Dremmel now called for...... Life is never straight forward!!!

Hi Stuart,

It sounds as if you are just suffering the joys of boating.

Regards

Alan

Refitted the pump assembly this weekend, after some judicious use of epoxy on the cracks, and despite what the instructions say a minimal amount of instant gasket to keep the bottom valve in situ whilst fitting it now works as it should. I even polished the seat for Mrs. W. The horn is now fitted so I can make the rag and stick brigade aware of my existence when approaching from behind.........
