Hi, I'm colin L, just joined and thanks for some nice hellos. Question, I was towing my 2.3 m inflAtable, and last year a ba guy said to me that it should have a reg number on it. But since then I have been looking and most small boats being towed don't have one.

whats the score?

   REGISTRATION MARKS

No person shall moor, use or navigate a vessel on
waters within the navigation area or cause or permit a
vessel to be so moored, used or navigated unless the

If you wish to use your inflatable on the broads then a toll has to be paid. If you will be using it often then full registration will be your best option, you will get a registration number to be attached to your craft.

If only using it for a couple of holidays then visitors tolls might be your best route forward.

Personally I'd go "visitors toll" then if you exceed those conditions, go the full hog and register it. You will get a discount for the visitor toll on full registration.

I hope that helps.
