DaveB
No, not a sewing question Would anyone happen to know what size thread the water temperature sensor hole is on a bmc1500? It's in the side of the thermostat housing on the head. As I have a new sensor that's apparently 1/4 npt whatever that is and it's too small so I need to get an adapter, if anyone knows I would be eternally grateful
ExUserGone
5/8" unf springs to mind from my old 2.5bmc days. 1/8npt is a common american pipe size, some npt match with bsp but lots are 1 TPI different, they also use different pitch angles on the thread form (55 & 60 degrees but can't remember which way). There you go an answer and an education.

JohnK
Wikipedia says ....Screw threadPer ISO 1222:2010, the current tripod screw thread standard for attaching the camera calls for a 1/4-20 UNC or 3/8-16 UNC thread. Most consumer cameras are fitted with 1/4-20 UNC threads. Larger, professional cameras and lenses may be fitted with 3/8-16 UNC threads, plus a removable 1/4-20 UNC adapter, allowing them to be mounted on a tripod using either standard.Other websites seem to agree. I have no knowledge of the subject but woke up early so spent a bit of time Googling it. 1
BrundallNavy
If your local pop to Boulter’s in Horning as I had the same problem and they found me an adaptor. Great local company who are always willing to help definitely gets my vote. Doug.
