That is good news and good luck to them. Let's hope they are successful. There are so many beautiful old pubs and Inns in my part of the world that are closing because people are not using them, use em or lose em as the saying goes

We have a Whetherspoons just opened in our little town, although it's quite pleasant and cheap as chips it doesn't have that rustic charm and personal service. The staff at a little country pub we use make you feel like the bees knees as soon as you walk through the door, cheap as chips or that warm friendly feeling, I know which I'd choose

Personally I don't think there's any harm in having a drink on the boat. We always use the pubs at lunch time and then a couple of glasses of something nice in the evenings, best of both really. What is a tad annoying is people mooring at a pub and eating and drinking on board, if you're going to moor at a pub then use the pub :default_drinks:

I am very happy to see the place re-open but it's bittersweet,  My friends lost their jobs with a weeks notice, a great team were torn apart and have sort employment elsewhere.  Good luck to the new management, the past is not your doing and I wish you success.

Couldn’t agree more, when we were moored outside the Ferry at Stokesby back in October we went in and had a couple of beers, and even though it was very quiet on the rivers, we still double checked that they were happy for us to stay moored up to have showers etc
