Jovril
Hi All Been looking at a Shetland 27 as possible boat which would be basically for use by two of us. We may have very occasionally very close friends/relations overnight so not a problem that is does not have fully separate berths although there is a curtain division between forward berth and dinning berth for some privacy. Does any one have a Shetland 27 who could give some feedback of how they find it? Or any opinions/pros and cons Welcome any comments John

Other than that good choice I take it you mean inboard diesel though some have outboards ?

Guest
Plenty of room for 3 with plenty of seating area ... never had 4 of us stay overnight on it ..lots of storage space ... our son (13) has the under helm sleeper compartment that he calls his own space. Easy boat to handle and control plus with screens down it's only 6ft 6inch air draft.
Jovril
Hi Ricardo Thanks you comments You can rest assured that a survey would be arranged before we brought any boat. John

coolcat
We have a Shetland 27i as well. She has been a great upgrade from our previous Viking 20. She sleeps us two fine and so long as you are on friendly terms, an extra one or two can be easily accommodated. I wouldn’t suggest trying whilst you’re under steam lots of poppers and fastners so not the quickest job in the world !

Yes very easy .... the canopy splits in half (unzipps in half ) so you can have just the front part up if you want a bit of sun shade and the back end folds down flat.... however it can all be left up and to get the whole canopy level with the top of the windscreen we just unzipp the front 2 canopy bars and they fold forward thus lowering whole canopy level with top of the screen and the rear canopy bar ( we do this when it's raining and want to get under bridges quickly without to much fuss and worry about airdraft)... whole canopy down is also easy and a one person job. Guest
With a bit of practice ... possibly a few swear words you will soon get the hang of it ?
