you think Harwich is bad - try Dover I have seen 3 ferries manouvering within the breakwaters at the same time, two coming in (one from each entrance) and one going out, with more heading in / out outside the breakwaters.

some come in and do a U turn before reversing, some just come in spin on the spot then reverse

Do they run ferries from Harwich these days?????????????? I thought all the ferries and cruise liners used  Parkstone Quay these days.  Mind container ships in and out of Felixstowe is another matter.

B2P That's close enough isn't it. Parkeston is part of Harwich or it was when I was young. Either way anything coming out of there will be big and generally fast if going to the hook. Stena still run from there.
