North or South

I am thinking of hiring early next year - March, April time - and would like opinions on whether to hire south or north. SWMBO would like to be able to see more than reedbeds from a single level boat. Which would be more scenic and have a good number of Broads/villages to visit?

I have been used to the Thames, cruising on my Freeman 23 - alas now sold. We would only be hiring for one week and do not wish to rush about motoring all day, 2 - 3 hours a day would be plenty.

From what you say you want ,then it,s got to be the north, the south is mostly reeds until you get right up the Yare or Waveny

I think i`d agree with yo there Trev, though the south is less busy, though as Brian is going so early, it should`nt be aproblem.

Would agree from your description of what you want that North would suit you better, also going March / April will keep you clear of the high season mad house which is the biggest drawback of being North.

Have you thought of who you`re going to hire from Brian?, as there may not be many yards open in March. Most yards start their season in April.
