Cheese Beanos

Lightly toast some bread and while that's happening heat your beans and slice some cheddar cheese.

Once the beans are hot and the toast starting to brown spoon beans onto the centre of each slice of toast and cover with cheese.

Return to the grill and melt the cheese 

 

That's it. Not Jamie Oliver but quick and tasty

Aah you have missed out the essential ingredient

A Thin slice of spam on the toast before applying the beans and cheese.

At least that was the way it was made when I was a young lad at sea !!!

Interesting addition there. I haven't done that. It's quite nice with a rasher of bacon on top too

And don't forget the airborne version of Ray's maritime one... a thick slice of corned beef!

Tan and I rather like beans on toast with grated cheese, on top of that a soft poached egg.

 

None of the above are good for Wooster's diet however.

I'm happy to report I lost 2lb while in Norfolk last week despite substantial meals at Acle Bridge, the Swan at Loddon, and  the New Inn at Rockland. Mind you I was pretty hungry for much of the time

I reckon it also had to do with being up and about all day rather than sitting at a desk or in a car

I'm hoping that as I lose weight, I can get more active again

Defo a splash of Worcester sauce on top as it melts in mmmmm.
