some shots

Hi Jonny

I think the vertical lines are caused by the planes landing light shining straight into your lens. SImilarly, the lines you can see on the shot of the Canada goose seem to be because the sun is bouncing striaght off the water behind the reeds and into your lens. I don't know what the technical reason behind this is, but you should probably avoid photos where the light is stright into the lens to avoid this.

To be honest Jill, I don;t really know. I don't think it would help with the lines Jonny is seeing on his photos where there is a strong light source, as to me this looks more like something in the electronics of the camera, by way of some sort of interference. If my understanding is correct from another thread on the subject, polarising filters are more for cutting glare and showing true colours, rather than cutting out light that is aimed directly at the lens.

Good stuff Jonny. It's nice to see you getting out there with your camera. I especially like the canal boat one - a strong composition and well thought out.

Hi everyone

as it was a good day even tho it was overcast i wanted to get some more shots.

so we went to http://www.threeowls.co.uk/ very nice place had all sorts.

from Barn owls to tourney owls magpies, pigeons, seagulls, black headed gulls, kestrels, ravens, crows, they even had a lapwing.

I know there in cadges & couldn't do anything about it so you will see them in the shots.

I couldn't get to the owls or kestrels.

Sorry for the cadges in the shots
