  4. Well the old girl is fixed guys and gals, a little shocked if I'm honest, no parts replaced either just given a good service and clean, which it should have had back end of last year, by the same company I may add. Think we best get saving though just in case, I just don't trust these guys that come, how do we know the last service tech didn't purposely do something (or not do something) in the hope it breaks and we have to buy a new one, every single time we get the old "oh this is an old unit and parts are hard to get" yes well that doesn't stop your company from covering it though does it grrrrrr. It's an Ideal Classic FF340 if that's of any interest to anyone lol

  6. Yeah I think to be successful you need to cater for the locals during the quieter months and build up a customer base.
  7. anyone showing up tonight ? tiz open from 8.30
  8. Hello Sundog, Welcome to the forum. Regards Alan
  9. As a mercedes devotee I love 'em all, however SLK has never had a reputation for reliability and that hasn't really changed. You buy them because you love them, not for any logical reason. If buying another do your best to get the post 2011 R172 model, which has the latest face lift and will retain it's value better than previous incarnations, especially as MB have announced the discontinuation of the SLC. Full service history is essential on any Mercedes and one owner cars are always preferable. Avoid cars which have more than one owner on average every three years, it usually means the car has been bought, issues found and off loaded quickly.
  10. Looks very nice indeed. Will be sure to say hello as we are at Acle Marina as well.
  11. all you would really need is something like a foot square of metal (biscuit tin lid?) inside the coach roof to improve the signal, just pinched between the new nut and the coach roof like a giant penny washer, you might even get away with a foil backing inside the roof.

  13. We used £32 fuel wonder why the big difference in deposit ours was £60 yours was £120
  14. It looks very reasonably priced. Mermaid from Richardsons is not a huge amount more but of course they wont do solo. You would need a deeper wallet for Glitter Girl from Summercraft though. I'm assuming Maycraft prices are exclusive of fuel which is only 100 quid and they don't mention a damage waiver as far as I can see. It sounds a good bet, traditional and comfortable rather than luxurious but looks good value and should be easily handled too. Please keep us posted!
  15. I think it might need a bit of Solvol Autosol and some elbow grease.
  16. Oh dear I don't know how to say this, but the lure of Norfolk has overcome our sense of duty and Nik and I will be heading North on Wednesday for a few well-earned days afloat. We are unlikely to be back in time for Friday's quiz on the 29th, which Nik was supposed to be running. She will be able to resume normal service the following Friday (5th April) but, as things stand, there will be no quiz on Friday. Of course, if anyone would like to step into the breach with another offering, they would be most welcome.
  17. Fear not boat all re polished and I use the Kartcher round patio cleaner attachment that came with the washer on the Indian stone slabs. John
  18. I think electric bikes are the future! Much greener than having to pedal!
