  1. We are due our annual holiday first week in September, but after reading all the reports of the rubbish bin removals on the Norfolk Broads I'm thinking about planning our holiday not so much on the tide tables but more on the places we can get rid of rubbish. Is there such a list or does anyone know where rubbish can be disposed of both North and South rivers?
  2. When booking our holidays we always preffered to start on a Monday for either 7 or 11 nights, indeed this year we hired Broom Cadet on Monday the 7th for 11 nights returning the boat on Friday 18th. Most yards seemed to offer a Moday start in the past, but this year whilst we were moored up in Horning, I got speaking to a gent on the boat next to us on Tuesday that said he'd just picked his boat up for a week holiday from Barnes. I thought to myself that's odd - Tuesday isn't usually a change over day, that was untill I booked my 2016 holiday last night, same boat from the same yard, I put in my preffered start date and got the message that 'this holiday starts on Tuesday' I checked a few other yards and it seems Monday is being replaced by Tuesday as a start day. Anyone got any ideas as to why?? To be honest it's probably better for us as the journey up may be smoother - no Monday morning panic rush hour. Roll on Tuesday 6th September 2016

  4. We have hired this boat (Swan Repose 5) 4 times and it behaves beautifully at river speeds, it is a well thought out boat with loads of storage ideal for 2 people. We also hired Swan Repose 4 before she had a Bow Thrusted added, and again, it was very easy to handle. My only gripe would be the quiet narrow and high side deck. The owner of Swancraft told me that their Shadow 26 all had vee hulls. We were quiet sad when they sold their last Shadow 26 to the private sector as we would still be hiring it today.
  5. anyone know if Rosie Leys is open on a Sunday for breakfast?? it sounds like just the place for us
