  1. RE: Autumn Meet 24th-25th /09 @ Surlingham. Is it still on?
  2. Would you please add Verdi B to the list.We will confirm for definite in Aug Verdi B, Bill & Chery, Sat-Mon, Stern on Bill
  3. Folks, "The best laid plans of mice & men etc." I have yesterday received a notification of hospital appt (overnight stay) so am totally B@3%^&*d again. I will miss the trip & summer meet. Honest I am not wimping out - I am really up for moving outside the playground and into the main road! Bill
  4. Just turned Fleet Dyke marker into a northerly fighting (tacking) for position Some great sights and shots
  5. Would you please add Verdi B to the flotilla Cheers, Bill
  6. Having sparked an ember of interest in this opportunity, I now have to duck out (unless I can get a hospital appt changed) I do want to hear how good it was though! Upside -looks like I maybe able to join the July outing though Bill
  7. Robin, Do we need to tentatively book NSYC for 24th (& maybe 26th) for 8 craft and Southwold for the 25th. At least then we have a "stake in the ground" It would seem a good idea for all interested parties to meet up to at some stage. For the locals it would be fairly easy, I am thinking of maybe forwarding a few convenient dates for Incomers. Sharpened up my Compass points and oiled Portland plotter, Now all I have to do is make sure I don't use the RYA Training chart to plot from Lowestoft. - Ah Sod it, I will use the chart plotter ! Bill H
  8. OK folks, do we have the long weekend 24th-27th June as target date: Baitrunner & BA (the old Guard) can I suggest we put together a steering group of maybe 4 people ( hopefully some will have charts) with the objective of an 8 boat party Then organise further trips if we are successful. I have sailed around Solent and across La Manche but on east coast am a Virgin, I will take any/all advice offered RYA - Day Skipper VHF radio Cert 1st 8 boats; Verdi B Skipper - Bill H - 3 berths available
  9. Well it would seem that we have some volunteers and one or two draftees. It now would be good to organise some dates during the summer. Can I suggest June (24th - 26th/27th) as our 1st attempt. If these dates are acceptable we can then move to step 2. And a tour from GY -Lowestoft, then on to Southwold and return seems a great idea. If it works we can then add a further two dates. Open to the Collator !!!
  10. Baitrunner, I seems that Lastdraft could also be interested in joining our motley crew and Griff is always up for a laugh. We could be close to having a quorum. By the way us "Northeners" area a 'Hardy' lot - pun intended !!
  11. We seem to have some Closet onshore boaters. Jaws as a higher being, could you move our fledgling group to proposed sub forum - save blocking the real traffic. I agree with the idea of
  12. Baitrunner, I will surely keep you informed. Verdi B has 200hp lump so should keep up with the straglers! What craft do you have? As you say most of the salty cruising seems to be R&S. Sounds like this could be an opportunity if enough interest.
  13. Not wanting to open old wounds or start another world war. I own a sea going boat and enjoy the peace and tranquility of as much time as possible spent on both the North and South broads waterways. I would like to occasionally venture out into the salty bit. As a responsible RYA Day Skipper, I know this is best done in company both for Security and the Companionship. I know that NYA have their own CIC, but am interested to know if there are other groups that venture out. I do hope this question is not taken as a slur on a broads forum
  14. I bought these then packed them away on the boat never to be used. So I have for sale 3 x 2.25 Super Snubbers (15ton max weight, I think) I will sell the all three for £20.00. We can arrange collection/delivery within the "Broads National Park "area
