  1. Horning to Coltlishall.......6.3 mi, 12 mins Whatever speed do they think you can do along that miserable road? I reckon Hoveton to Colt will sometimes take that!
  2. Now that needs a bit of thinking about.........................
  3. Thanks, Mark... that's the stuff we have.
  4. Lori, err, "why did'nt you use your fone" .....??? ??:
  5. Oh, I can really see the H&S Mafia loving that nowadays, Neil! :bow But, in fact, a proper "drawbridge" on the back of a stern-drive boat (and anyone stern-mooring in a tidal area) is a very useful piece of kit. Lucky has one on the back of his boat, I believe.
  6. Oh crickey, Andy, you've started one here!
  7. Any chance you'll be able to make the Spring Meet, Frank?
  8. Seriously, though, Lori it looks like the heron on the How Hill logo.
  9. Ouch indeed, Lori! (I wonder if we've underpriced the new burgee?????) :naughty:
  10. Frank, what an inspiring description of the word "Determination" (post #22). :clap Mary-Jane and I take our collective hats off to you two, Mate, and look forward to sharing a glass or two sometime this year!

  13. Alan, oh how I wish I had your dedication!
  14. They used to say that it was the curse of the drinking classes.................
  15. Oh Noooooooooooo! At least if we're coming up towards you, Jon!
  16. Frank, Hi I'm sure I remember reading about some 20 or more Herbert Woods workers boarding a boat (in their break!) so that it could get back under the bridge. :clap When we had a meet at Beccles some time ago (Neil was helming) we took the "salties" to Geldeston Locks on the Sunday and the 15 or so extra passengers certainly lowered the air-height considerably. You can clearly see this as our fenders usually sit 3-4 inches above the water! (And, yes, they all did bring their LSJ's!) :naughty:
  17. Thanks for that, BB. I knew we'd get a definitive answer eventually! Friday Girl's posted air-height when we bought her form Barnes Brinkcraft was 6' 9" (and a warning not to go under the bridge with less than 6' 11" showing) but we gradually took it down an inch or so at a time and we've now several times been under at 6' 6". When we were stuck on the Coltishall side a couple of years ago with 6' 3" showing (and not likely to get much higher for some time) we asked the Pilot his opinion and he said that if we got it dead-centred we'd probably make it.......... we did but wouldn't do it again! :bow
  18. Just found this, Lori and I'm not too sure I'd want to pay £20! http://www.coltishall.org.uk/?page=11031 And down the page a bit Private boat owners can also take advantage of the service at the same cost - £20 per return trip.
  19. Please don't, Grace. I may well be wrong. I'm sure we'll hear pdq as to whether they will or won't! One thing is certain... someone out there will know!
  20. What's MS's air-height, Sue? I'm pretty certain that the Pilots will take anyone through who's willing to pay them, Grace!
