  1. Well I have to say that Facebook isn't quite the universal pariah I thought it to be. In fact if I wish to keep up with the news of innumerable boating friends and six Grandchildren, then I have no choice but to follow it. Not to mention several private groups where I can keep in contact with old chums from the RAF and later days. Without that I would be a much more solitary person and unable to chat with all those old mates.
  2. And your throats as wet as you would wish!
  3. We have a Nanni too, Mark. I wouldn't dream of heating the water by running the engine at whatever revs, because you're not putting a load on it and the consequent glazing of the bores will eventually cause you problems. Yes, I know the hire boats do this but they also spend a lot of hours at high revs which probably offsets this. I found that our calorifier had connections for 230V on it and I wired this in to the 230V system.
  4. Ditto, Mark, and I was overwhelmed by the volume I received from unknowns... :norty:
  5. It would have helped as a vertical lee-board, Jill!
  6. And I bet you needed that whirlpool bath, Howard!
  7. You do take on some challenges, don't you? :bow
  8. It seems to have considerably more freeboard on its way home! Lovely pics, again! :clap
  9. Well we've taken the plunge... I guess it would be just our luck to win our part of the combined prize Jill and us are offering........... if that happens then I guess it will be OK to swap (if anyone wants to)? :bow
  10. You're correct, Howard, I remember posting a pic of their notice when they last closed it saying that it was only a temporary measure.
  11. And why am I not surprised that you're the first, Lori? Ever the thoughtful one! x Our similar Best Wishes to one and all.
  12. I guess JDW's have rather unlimited resources, Col, compared with Richard?
  13. And they'd brought back the Thursday night crowd from wherever they'd gone to after it last closed... Let's hope they'll return again :cry
  14. For our 35 footer it certainly would! :naughty:
  15. The problem with that, Andy, is surely that the coverage over most of the Broads is either very poor or of low quality. I tried that path in the summer with a 4g phone and had very poor results.
  16. Now that's a tragedy for us regulars....
  17. BITD, Howard? I thought I knew OB! :bow
  18. Now how did that get up to you, Jon? :naughty:
  19. Hello from us. Does anyone have a problem if I, as a Mod, buy tickets for Mary-Jane and me?
  20. Hey Ho, first I can't get one quote, (just pasted that) Well, there you are! It's IE that's at fault and I'm now using Firefox. Thanks, John.
