  1. We used Peachments to service our Nanni 50 and Beta Genny and they would check belts and impellers each annul service, replacing where necessary. It helped that I took the impellers off when not intending to use the engine(s) for a month or so and kept the belts at correct tension (+/- 0.5 ins?).

  2. Although it's a B way to do it I can recommend a double knee op to lose weight!

Last October I was hovering around 17 stone but after my first knee replacement I didn't feel like eating much and couldn't get to the Hockham Eagle lunch and evening times. I gave up cooked breakfasts and suppers and now have one cooked (teatime) meal a day.

3 months later and my second knee op (far too soon, by the way) continued this all again. I've now been a steady 14 stone 7 lbs for the last 2-3 months!

I recently found a box of folded clothes I put away many, many years ago... now I've got a new wardrobe!

    (BTW, I'm 6ft 2ins)

Hiring an all electric boat is a choice. One I wouldn't make, but if I did, I wouldn't make other people pay for my mistake. I would go without the late night chocolate, or stay in the pub longer. I would wait until after 8am for my cuppa, or start cruising and then have a cuppa under way. My choice should only affect me, not others. If more people were responsible for their own choices, the world would be a better place.

We didn't hire one, it was our own, so we weren't responsible for our own choices in hiring an all electric boat.

The generator had an underwater exhaust and was very quiet but we still respected the other peeps. When built they were avoiding a gas installation, hence the genny. Propulsion was by Nanni.

I think the problem that the moderators have when contributing/policing a contentious debate is that if they have a passionate support for one side it is very difficult to be objective when asked to judge if the TOS has been violated.

In many ways it might be helpful if moderators has two handles, the official Nbn one and their own.

This would enable them to like postings without the misconception that a post is moderator supported.

The Mods made this very obvious, Lou, not so long ago.

Friday,  boat cleaning,  Saturday,  boat cleaning,  Sunday if it stops raining I might get to take the little Broom out for a run.

It's just easing off here now in south-central Norfolk, Mark, so let's hope that you can all get out!   :default_eusa_dance:

I’ve been mostly keeping out of these kind of topics and preferring to focus on the lighter side of life.

However what concerns me is when these topics are in the public area not the members area. And yes, I know there are reasons that may justify that. But how many of you stop and think about the impression that you are giving all those non-members casually browsing?  And it doesn’t give me a good impression of that community.

There are too many people who seem unable to make their point, agree to disagree and move on.

Definitely "YES", Jean. Unfortunately there are those who will bang on about freedom of speech, etc. if the Mods choose to move the topic there.

One thing I don't agree with is when someone has obviously thrown a stone in the pond to see how far the ripples will go out across the water. That is not productive.

    Hear! Hear!

Well said, Vaughan, and I heartily agree with your well expressed sentiments.   :default_icon_clap:
