    Delilah

Hi all, yes we are still around, still have Delilah, just life got too busy for the time I spent on the forums, plus a few members on another got my goat up always picking on newbies when asking the same newbie questions which as a newbie you are perfectly entitled to do so. So with time being tight I decided not to get involved anymore. We have both had major job changes, though I am still with Jewson, and Vikki is now working for an educational Trust. We lost Zac five and a half years back, poor sod got throat cancer, he is still much missed and with time restraints we have not got another dog yet. I will try and spend some time on here, I do miss the banter and advice. All the best for now Gary and Vikki.
  2. Not the BA's fault, but this is getting silly now! would not be so bad if they become private moorings with a reasonable overnight charge, but some one will be making a mint by selling mudweights soon...
  3. Think she is two boats down from me, or before me if on foot, Barry has not been in there for a while now, missing my neighbour.
  4. I am considering a mirror dinghy, you know sail, row, or stick a small outboard on, my main worry is one, storage, easily sorted, but two, the toll I would be paying for occasional use, visitor, tempory toll is no good as I would only use it on weather or time allows.
  5. I don't think that the price of the wet shed is that high actually, especially when it is five hundred cheaper than I was paying elsewhere, when at Acle dyke, it was only just less than paying at Richos wet shed, with far far better amenities, glad to be there, security was one big point to moving as well as the friendliness of the owners, being under cover is a completely personal choice that we want for our boat, its nice to see a place that is having money spent on it, and Clive don't worry about yourself, as I only hear good things about you, and having been customers on and off for 20 plus years know the yard well.
  6. I used to moor at a big yard, who will remain nameless for obvious reasons!!! this weakend just gone we moved to the wet shed at Richo's Stalham, i have seen that there are plenty of forum members in there already, The place is like a walk in history of the broads boats, and can imagine i will spend many an hour just looking at some fantastic craft. The yard have made us more than welcome, and i can't say i am sorry to be there, when we first put a boat on the broads 5 years ago now we moored next door at Broadsedge, and the ant has to be one of the most beautifull rivers on the system especailly this time of year. The shed is full of boats that put mine to shame(at the moment anyway) so i know i will not have a problem with damage to my boat as i had 'elsewhere', and the owners will not challenge me as to the right i have to be in their yard! and cheaper and electricy and water all at hand...
  7. May as a regular user of the NBF, just say that its nice that you are willing to be open to NBF members in such instances, and as a result you will get more members too boot, i use this site and more often the NBF, not because of any preferance, but i have found i was using the NBF first and just stuck with it, i hardly have time to go on one site let alone 3 or 4, thing change and you never know. I do not see it as a competion and have been helped in the past by certian member on here even though i fly the NBF pennant on teh front of my boat, and have just moved said boat to one of your biggest members Richo's wet shed. we are all here for the same singular reason,- The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
  8. think one thing is clear, that most of you can't choose one single boat! So boat designers you have had 100s of years but still have to find that winning design.
  9. i know that Richard and or gary will work to sort these problems out, just hard for you poeple who run these sites to battle with hardware problems let alone these cretins who think its fun to ruin a informative and friendly forum, stick to the usa military and pay the consiquences...
  10. yes, i always tell the un-educated of the broads 'its just a slow pub crawl' but life doesn't get any better !
  11. you lent her a lead and use your electric for her hairdryer. Thanks again, you know what women are like about there hair, we don't have enough to worry about these days.
  12. well the hire boat i disliked the most was crystal emblem 2 from pennents back in the day, and yes she is the boat we now own, best hire boat would be the broom from richos two years ago, will not pass under many bridges, but for size and moveability the siesta was great. My earnest collins is the love of my life but favorite would have to be one of the classic woodies.
  13. did you enjoy the punk'd ipa you got from the strange lady(my wife) who you helprd out with drying hef hair? And can you do sn ale trail...
  14. i have one of the sister boats, J26, when i found her for sale in october 2011, she had been re registered 616D, and on invesigation discouvered her true identity, and stranger still we had her as a hire boat 20 years previous.
  15. you may struggle to get 4mm, edens don't normaly sell marine that thin, but on that quantity ? also if its not below waterline, or definatly for a boat, i would go for far eastern ply, all ply available in 2400 x 1200, 3050 x 1200, and 3050 x 1500 if memory serves correct, get in contact with me when you know what you want, i may be able to help,
