  1. Garlic butter, crusty buttered bread....
  2. I hired one from Martham Boats a few years ago - just what I needed.
  3. Fabsil cleaner and Fabsil Gold. Makes the water bead and just roll off. I apply by brush and wipe with a cloth. Superb stuff, makes a real difference.
  4. and make sure the other end is tied to the boat...
  5. And you're going to want to drag it through the water for a bit to get the mud off before it gets anywhere near the boat.
  6. Anchor + chain (+ warp if using) weighs a hefty amount too. Mudweight should present no problem. Worked for me.
  7. What type? A friend has a 3m (ish) ali hull Ribeye with a 9.9 4-stroke for sale. Bought new at the boat show a couple of few ago and hardly used. In Norfolk
  8. I had to claim while under Craftinsure, they were excellent. No problems at all, speedy responses, full settlement. Gave great advice too.
  9. I've got the R171 SLK55 AMG and it's a properly fun car. 5.5 litre V8 - loud and goes like stink. Much recommended. The R171 AMG seems to be preferred to the R172 AMG as far as driving is concerned, but there are fewer gadgets. Good driver's car - Southampton and back over the past couple of days in its averaged nearly 30mpg. Push it hard and it will return single figures mpg. It's a bit of a handful in the damp though. So much oomph.
  10. Paulyana knows his stuff
  11. Agreed - he let some things slide for both teams, which requires guts. A great game from all three directions. Roll on next Sunday...predictions?
  12. I thought the ref managed the game well. He allowed the rugby to flow - something which some others do not. As a player and a spectator, it can be so frustrating when every little thing is picked up on by an overly officious ref. Great match today.
  13. Happily eat my words! Good performance, well reffed.
  14. I do suspect a different Ireland this 2nd half though - they always wake up in the 2nd.
  15. Good first half this afternoon though... 90 seconds? Oh how we missed Tuilagi.
  16. 1) Fabsil cleaner 2) Fabsil Gold. Apply by brush, keep a wet edge. Paint brush on, rag to wipe over. Dead easy and great to see water beading off for months.
  17. Agreed - Andrew from Jeckells is the 'go-to guy'
  18. Just crossed with you Mark - not arguing! :)
  19. Plenty of non-floating pontoon moorings, fine with springs. Not an issue. Brundall Gardens is quite good. No pump out as far as I can remember (it's been 2 or 3 years since we were there). It also depends what type of boating you do; if you want to have a blast across Breydon or go to sea frequently, the Reedham is probably the best location although limited facilities, or Oulton Broad/other side of Mutford lock. Lowestoft Haven is very nice, but you can't get into the Broads except by Mutford.
  20. There's some great stuff called Vuplex available in spray tins. It is a plastics finishing product; there is some citrus and some silicone, along with a number of other bits. As it is a finishing spray, don't put it on anything which you want a sticker to stick to - it won't. It fills micro-scratches and makes a huge different visually. Just to mention again: "don't put it on anything which you want a sticker to stick to - it won't". Not that I'm advocating preparedness or anything.... :)

    Bad Manners

That's horrible Ray, and is unfortunately not unheard of. The best thing I can say to myself when it happens is "there's a***h***s everywhere, and they are not going to ruin my day." That said, a good dose of stinky diesel exhaust fumes in their direction goes a long way to making me feel better.
  22. A few different ways to do it. Brooms tend to have electrically operated hydraulics on their radar arches, so you just flick a switch for both up and down. Handy with radomes, antennae, lights, GPS, radar reflectors etc etc as the weight adds up. Just remember the canopy first... BTW you don't get cooked by radar if you have a nice 3G/4G system as opposed to pulse magnetron.
  23. As for driving it, go and do the RYA powerboat level 2. It's a great introduction and will teach you the basics of boat handling. Really worthwhile,
