    Good News

Not had a run in with the local geese then? Ruddy things chased me once Grace x
  2. Just a gentle reminder and I am so not telling you off but not all people from Essex are ditzy, dumb blondes Look at me.......I'm ditzy and blonde and I come from East Sussex Grace x
  3. What a decent sort you are Griff. I hope it goes well, with your instruction, I can't see it going any other way I hope they have a fantastic week afloat Grace x
  4. Dear old Parge, I can do you a dessert, an Eton Mess with a difference. Meringue, strawberry's, cream and other ripe seasonal berries such as raspberry's and cherry's. Mix all together and then garnish with cucumber and beetroot I still have no clue as to why my kids won't eat it Grace x
  5. The Wayford Bridge Inn do an excellent breakfast and a Sunday roast to die for. Not a Farmers Market but you also have Meales garden centre which is more than just a garden centre and the cafe there is very good too Cook your own on board, how delightful is the smell of bacon wafting from a boat as you walk past. I have found over the years if the family vote on dining in or out, they normally opt for out Grace x
  6. I have admired and always will admire the people that worked through it all, NHS staff obviously but the lorry drivers and delivery people etc etc who worked through the night too just so there was food on the shelves ( They forgot the toilet rolls though ) The other side of the coin, the people who were totally alone and cut off from society, the loneliness and isolation they must have felt. How we will never get those lost years back. The dreadful situations where people died alone because loved ones couldn't be there to hold their hand, an absolute tragedy It gave me a sense of perspective, how lucky I was and am to have my family and friends, who, thankfully survived it where so many didn't And as for people crossing the road to avoid walking past the Boss, don't they know he has a fleet of boats Grace x
  7. I think it was all so new, so rare, unprecedented and so bloody cruel. No one really knew what to do. The decision makers made their decisions to the best of their ability at the time. I don't blame anyone. What I did find so deplorable was the powers that be decided our lives for us, gave us rules and locked us down but didn't follow those rules themselves. That wasn't right I don't mean to get political, it's not allowed and that's not what this thread is about. I can't believe it's been 4 years already. Let's just hope lessons have been learned and it never happens again Grace x
  8. She's a lovely boat Simon, you and Suzie should be well snug aboard her Have a great time Grace x
  9. I don't think it will help Smogs. After a few beers in the pub Neil won't know or care which end of the boat is which Grace x
  10. I've never hired her but she is a lovely boat, you'll be arguing who has the aft en-suite Knowing you it will be beer....fishing.... repeat You have the best time, you deserve it Grace x
  11. Just as well you're not a Peregrine Falcon then Grace x
  12. I'm far too posh to dine on pie and chips in me mink coat and heels This is good news, I wish them well. Hopefully pay them a visit on our next trip Grace x
  13. That's very kind of you Graham, thank you. Charlie is taking a look as we speak Grace x
  14. I don't mind children or dogs in a pub as long as they are well behaved and respectful of other pub goers. I've seen bad behaviour in a couple of pubs, it's adults rather than children and dogs that have caused a problem It's my view that some children and pets are better behaved than some adults propping up the bar having a skinful Grace x
  15. You are right, it's not a joke. A little banter between friends isn't going to change it either but it might help brighten the day Grace x
  16. You know you can tell when a crab is drunk......it walks straight Grace x
  17. Oh my god Zip it Gracie. Not a flippin word x
  18. I just wish both fishing and boating camps could get along, respect each other for being on or near the water and just get on with it. There's always people who will do anything they can to make a situation worse than it really has to be. I think Norfolkangler, you are a very reasonable fishermen who respects and abides by the rules, your last post sums that up completely. Once the fishing season starts up again, I am looking forward to reading about your days on the rivers and the fish you catch Grace x
  19. So very true. Do you know I have executed the best damn mooring you will have ever seen when no one is watching. Executed being the correct turn of phrase Grace x
  20. I meant to end my last post wishing you all a Merry Christmas Well I can't be blamed and told off for mentioning Christmas too early this year thank you very much Grace x
  21. I agree with M&P I've bought some nice meat to burn from there Also there is the pet centre and tackle shop, always so helpful and friendly staff too. The the fish and chip shop and the fried chicken next door run by the same people I believe, it's lovely, the chicken is better than KFC. I was sad to read this article, we have visited and shopped there most years when coming to pick up the boat, even when we haven't hired from Richardson's we still paid the town a visit. I wouldn't mind living there for sure. Grace x
  22. The best boats we have hired would have to be the Major Gems from Richardson's. We've hired 1 and 2, they are such good value for money, the space on them is excellent. If my numbers come up I would buy one of these like a shot Sorry for the slight drift Grace x
  23. Lovely boats, thank you or sharing. My favourite is Tideway, we hired Broadland Mars from Richardsons which is identical and a very roomy boat for a family. I love them all of course Grace x
  24. Oooh, one or me too, except change the beer tap for a Prosecco tap x
  25. "I think she is starting to look much better now"..........Biker, she looks stunning. Well done! Grace x
