The local RNLI Coastal safety team are putting together a boat safety course covering first aid, life jackets, calling for help, recovering mob and how and where to connect a tow line etc these will be delivered by RYA/RNLI instructors. These subjects are relevant for inland or coastal boaters and this first course will be free of charge the only ask being that the participants give feed back on the course so it can be improved if need be. There are a few space's open on a first come basis the date is 9th April at Southwold and would hope to include a visit to the local RNLI station time permitting, please PM me if interested. 15. I wonder if the hoaxers realise the efforts needed to raise the thousands of pounds that was wasted in this search.
  16. Ghost's of the Norfolk Broads ?
  17. It is possible to book rooms at the RNLI collage and the Riggers restaurant is open to the public, but booking is advisable as it does get busy. The idea is that collage is self financing through the hotel, restaurant plus corporate use of the facilities so the cost of accommodation / food for trainee crews is covered from the income. I think there is still someway to go but i believe it's moving in the right direction. Bob
  18. Would just like to make everyone aware that Happisburgh coastal safety team are more than happy to inspect and offer advice on lifejackets and their use, you can arrange to bring them to the station or we could do a clinic at one of the forum meets. please contact me if interested. Bob
  19. Posting this for a friend, donation to forum funds if this ad results in a sale. This is a Fletcher speed boat and includes a sniper trailer with rollers and an Evenrude 120hp V4 outboard engine. I have recently had the rear seats upholstered and the engine has had a full service and rewiring despite the raising trim not working. A replacement trim motor will cost around £130 but other that this she runs like a dream. Please note I will be advertising elsewhere and reserve the right to remove the listing upon sale. I am willing to sell in parts, i.e. the trailer/boat/engine. The boat includes a speedometer is supplied with anchors and lines etc and I'm happy to come to an agreement on water toys and jackets if required. Her approximate dimensions are 16ft long, 6ft wide and 2.5ft keel and she can reach up to 50 knots with plenty of acceleration making her perfect for skiing. £1000.00 ONO PM me for contact phone number. Bob
