  1. Our MOB ladder is very similar to Griffs but our rungs are all threaded and spaced out onto two pieces of rope, making it easier to deploy, use and recover :naughty:

This sounds like the ladder we have on the boat. We brought it for when I might have problems getting off / on the boat :bow.

  2. Hi Alan, yes we are surprised regarding Brooms. They use to stay open until 4pm and also be open on Sundays. So that is a right pain in the rear end regarding fuel and pump out for the end of the season xmas4. Our last trip out on the river will be the last weekend in November, so we will need to top the fuel up by 1 o'clock or of course get a fuel can :shocked.

  3. Hello Kris and welcome to NBN. We all hope WayfordBridge all goes well cheers. We will be up on the boat next weekend, but we have got next week booked. The next trip up to the boat is the last weekend in November, will you be up and going for drink and diner?

  4. Hi Iain, I am sorry to hear that you were unwell and you had to cut short your holiday. Ian was talking about you earlier this evening.

As Ian had said, how about looking into flying to Norwich and then get a taxi to the boat yard. I have a  telephone number of a taxi service in Norwich, which we use when ever we need a taxi and the fare is not bad.

    All the best.

  5. Hi Eric, well my mother, mother in law had cataract ops on both eyes and they could see a lot better than they had done for a very long time. Next my sister and sister in law had the op and they are ok, but next was my brother and he had a problem after the op. I have been told that my eyes are ok for someone of my age.

I have been told to wear sun glasses on a bright day.

As you can see what others are saying you should go ahead and have the first op done. You will be fine :bow.

    Good luck.

    Regards

  6. It's funny, because I am trying to work out for moorings on Friday 30th Oct for the night, as we have a friend arriving at Norwich Railway Station from London arriving around 9am. We would love to meet them by boat at Norwich and I know we will have low tide Saturday morning. I am tempted to moor at Norwich Y/S over night on the Friday :hardhat:.

I will let you know :naughty:.

  7. Hi Steve, :welcome: enjoy your time on the boat and north river is a great place. We can only get up to north river from Brundall on our two week hols, because of the boat height and the bridge height at GYS and of course the tides.

    Enjoy  :dance.

  8. Hello Nollock and Nance and welcome to NBN :wave. Fingers cross you have good and dry weather for your two weeks hols:bow. Is this your first time on the Broads or have you been boating before? If I don't ask others will. Have a great two weeks cheers.

  9. Ok all, I am one who checks tides, not just going over Breydon, but any where we are traveling on the Broads. As some of you know we have an Alpha 29 made in the early 1990 and our height is 8ft 6ins, so we all ways have to check bridge heights.

Crossing Breydon this September I had it right for the tide, but that was when we had high tides. We should have got under Vauxhall bridge going north with no problem, but at the last moment we had to lower the windscreen, because we only had a couple of inches to spare.

So yes, checking bridge height is very important, but also knowing the tides is just as important.

    Regards
