  1. You love your Hearts Cruiser so why not this image: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6e/Love-heart-arrow.svg
  2. Wherries in Borrow's Ham, Oulton Broad
  3. The Albion arrived at Oulton Broad today, it was soon apparent that the crew were completely Pru-less, and Tim-less too.
  4. By the way, Merlin, welcome to this forum and to this thread. I'm afraid that there are two very distinct schools of thought on the national park's issue both here and elsewhere. I don't intend to dig up all the various threads that have reared their head since Dr Packman embarked on his national park vision but if you feel the need to be informed then I'd be only too happy to fill in the details! In the meantime enjoy the forum and just ignore me when I'm on my high horse. Hopefully we can now revert to the friendly forum that we normally are.
  5. Re Sue & her corgi, I have yet to meet a corgi that hasn't made a darned good boat dog. Small enough to go under the arm when climbing ashore or back aboard, short legged enough to roll around in the forepeak when sailing and always good natured.
  6. One thing that I admire about the layout on Nyx is the beer frig right next to John's lounging seat, both suitably placed for welcoming guests aboard.
  7. Back to the serious, this article in our local EDP makes interesting reading although not related to the Broads: http://www.edp24.co.uk/business/center-parcs-elveden-resort-targets-20m-investment-to-attract-3g-families-and-other-new-holidaymakers-1-5107164 Perhaps Center-Parcs has got it right. Mind you, the Broads infrastructure needs attention. Pubs with broken garden furniture, for example, should have no place on the Broads.
  8. Pike fishing on the Broads is a shadow of what it was even ten years ago. I cringe when I see some of the appalling bite indication and fish handling skills shown by some anglers, some of whom consider themselves to be experienced pike anglers. What pike angling is not and that is carp angling. Unlike a carp pike are not durable and they are not self hooking.
  9. Not a lot of wind today. Will Tim be driving the tow boat or sweating on a quant? Albion is looking very smart in John's quality pictures, thanks John for posting them.
  10. http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/2017-07-14/staff-on-norfolk-broads-offered-free-training-to-prevent-drowning/
  11. The boat was being used as an official 'ferry' for the regatta week thus the MCA was probably involved however all has gone very quiet. In fairness the family has suffered enough.
  12. Thanks Paul! How come Tim wasn't steering?
  13. How right you are! http://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/news/woman-and-girl-seriously-hurt-in-oulton-broad-boating-incident-1-4674472
  14. Not if you took your pics from a public highway, e.g. the river. Look forward to seeing them!
  15. Here's the deal, folks, ensure that Dr Packman refrains from pushing his uncalled for agenda at every given opportunity, plain & simple.
  16. All credit to the RNLI. It is just a shame that Dr Packman has ridden on the back of a perfectly good initiative in order to pump out his propaganda. Hopefully the BA will also put it to rest, only we know that they won't. In my opinion it was a crass attempt to further promote his vision/agenda, had it not been made then it would not have been made an issue, plain and simple.
  17. Perhaps both Actually not moaning about the Broads not being a national park, I rather like it that way!
  18. This looks good! http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/rnli-appeal-for-waterside-volunteers-to-help-save-lives-on-norfolk-and-suffolk-broads-waterways-1-5103671 However 'tis marred by a comment from Yare House, grrrrrr. I quote Dr Packman of the Broads Authority: Broads Authority Chief Executive John Packman welcomed the initiative and said: “We want everyone to enjoy the waterways within our national park safely.”Our national park, Dr Packman? For a kick off the Broads is not legally a national park, secondly the Broads is NOT bloody well yours.
  19. http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/business/norwich-fishing-retailer-angling-direct-successfully-floats-on-the-london-stock-exchange-aim-list-1-5104354
  20. Indeed it makes a mockery, not of the BA, but the yards promoting the Broads as a NP. They can not have it both ways! It also suggests that the BA is pulling one way whilst the industry is pulling in the other.
  21. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/naked-stag-party-louts-spark-row-on-norfolk-broads-a3585906.html There can hardly be a person in the country that is not now aware of this story.
  22. Perhaps more blame should be aimed at the pub concerned rather the boat yards, at least in this case. Continuing to serve folk who have clearly had two over the eight is not being responsible.
  23. Poppy, I know it was you, you little devil, fancy playing with the buoys at your age! I would have thought that withies would have been more suitable, and less likely to be tampered with.
