  1. I get that and fully understand what the vaccine does my concerns are people's perception towards immunity which in reality wont happen and have often thought the government and for that matter the media have put too emphasis on immunity and its business as usual- which I cant see happening. This vaccine is going to be an annual jab Finny
  2. When I had my jab I was lucky enough to get to speak to the pharmacist who mixed the dose . I asked will this vaccine give immunity? - she replied No . You can still catch the virus and spread it .what it will do is beef up your immune system T cells to be able to recognize covid and fight it in a bid to lower hospitalization and deaths ( her words ) Whilst in my local shop over the weekend I heard an elderly lady telling the shop keeper that she wasn't worried any more as she had had the jab and was now immune . I have to admit I have concerns of the mixed messages about what exactly this vaccine does Finny
  3. Looks great ....I remember closing the roof was like pushing a bus up an hill . Great improvement Robin Finny
  4. Whilst I respect the fact that everyone has the right to their opinion there is a massive difference to what is legal to do and what is morally the right thing to do . I often wonder if common sense isn't that common after all the elderly .vulnerable are priority in the vaccination program but my own thoughts would be get the teachers vaccinated whilst off giving the a couple of weeks for the system to adjust and anybody who works with the public .taxi drivers bus drivers shop workers (all vital cogs in the wheel ) and reduce the chance serious casualty and in the process overtime a little bit of restraint from the normal whilst we get through this it sn't a great loss of liberty in the short .that said there may well be the need to cross the line from time to time but people need to ask themselves- is it necessary and what could be the implications There are some necessary job roles where social distancing is virtually nil and even with control measures in place the risk factor is there - every wondered why doctors and nurses and all around them have died Worst bloody year in my working life and the things I need around me to ease my fears I have had to distance from them Moving forwards . We have the best military in the world .and let's not ever forget the hard times they have pulled this country from the brink . So I hope boris arms the with the vaccine that doesn't need sub zero conditions and let them do what they do best Or perhaps he could use Aldi check out staff ...........the whole country would be done by the end of the week???? My last post this - keep safe .think of others and sometimes use a bit of common sense Finny
  5. Thanks but I cant relax I have loved ones at home who have not and wont be vaccinated for a while . I was impressed by the whole set up .the authority I work for has got through its care homes and the carers and is in the community. I didn't think I would happen so soon but we handle clinical waste and if iam honest the lads have had a bloody tough year every week we have had whole crews go down with covid and let's not forget they take in home with them so it doesn't end there and whilst we have had more then most as a department we have been bloody lucky because we had some bad cases . Being in my late 50,s I dont mind telling you I have had many sleepless nights . Iam just extremely grateful somebody at the top and recognised the risk based on the casualty figures and is putting the whole of my department through as soon as possible Keep strong people it's coming Finny
  6. Honestly its beyond a joke on here sometimes Finny
  7. I have just had the Pfizer vaccine earlier today and was told by the nurse it would be 12 days before the vaccine would take effect Finny
  8. Hello Robin and welcome to the forum Now I may be mistaken here but iam pretty sure she used to be called September Dawn .I moored next door but one to her on broadsedge at stalham. I even had the pleasure in taking her down the Ant one day . Not a ripple in the wake and she was a dream to handle with the 2.2 BMC on tickover She was a lovely boat then and iam she will soon be back up there- thanks for sharing Finny
  9. A mate of mine damaged his fridge door on his 60,s camper van with a very deep gash across most of the front of the door . he filled it then did a fantastic job fiber glassing the whole of the door then simply paint sprayed it - very time consuming but the end result looked the part finny
  10. Brilliant. I have never really looked at having a bucket list as such but to be honest since watching Guy Martin with the tv spitfire I often said to myself " I would love to get my backside in one of those " My excitement starts with spitfires as soon as the rolls Royce engine cranks over and fires - it's a magical roar .funnily enough I get the same feeling driving past the gun test wall after driving towards Stalham from potter I cant fly one but if money ever became no object then I wouldn't mind one Finny
  11. Is anybody eating out ? Anyway deal done the wheels will roll Finny
  12. That's right Griff . I expect there will be more distress about not having a fresh lettuce for the prawn cocktail with most Finny
  13. i wonder how many of the tests show a false positive ?? finny
  14. I dont think you have put a spanner in the works .far from it .most live aboard I suspect would hardly move from the mooring providing a stable base for any cat to adapt . I cant speak for john only he knows his future plans and if he wants to fully commit to ensure this cat gets the best chance it can get .so the more opinions the better Finny
  15. We have had cats nearly all our family life and whilst you can re- train a dog to a degree you have absolutely no chance in training a ten year old cat to live on a small boat in comparison to what they are used too ,personally i think through fear the cat will dart on the first chance it gets ,there is chance it would not dart far from a house and would return but a boat is not a house my advice .re-home the cat to an environment that has its best interest at heart finny
  16. Barton Broad for me too . it may sound strange but you can be "out" of it but also be "in" it at the right spot failing that ..i likes to mud weight myself down near the bar in the Sutton finny
  17. May not be in our circles but Break Dancing has been around since the 80's it was then and now even more now is massive around the world . One thinks there is a need to freshen things up and appeal to a younger generation And to be honest I would sooner watch that than waiting to see a float bob under the water Finny
  18. Strong sunlight can soon fade soft furnishings.......its cheaper for new curtains than a upholstered fittings Finny
  19. Eat out to help out You just couldn't make it up - it's just one cock up to another But it's all part of the plan Finny
  20. Bang on the money Gracie And a boat is a boat - even of its stuck together by little plastic bricks Finny
  21. Todays young ladies drivers have become yesterdays boy racers .the roles have reversed - I tell my daughter regularly " let me know when you coming ......so I can switch on the runway lights " Finny

  23. First ever job was a maintenance fitter in a very large engineering and assembly plant 90 % of the workers was women and let me tell you smutty jokes and sexual innuendos doesn't even come close it ......that said some of the most skilled people I have ever worked with worked there and it was a pleasure and that was over 40years past The work place is changing .we currently have two young ladies working on hgvs tractors and plant that have off their own merits gained much respect from what was a very Male oriented role . and from what I see whilst in that department not afraid in shelling out workplace banter Finny
