Sod the eating, the good sign is that he's back to moaning about everything! He's got a tv and was watching a home decorating show and saying how bad of a job they are doing!.. Everything crossed they don't put a cooking show on!

    Hopefully you are home soon.

Thinking of you Ian.    They are great at James Paget, and on the drip of concentrated ( I was going to say Prosecco sorry just trying to wind Gracie up) good stuff you will soon feel your old self again.       When your levels drop as yours did , you just feel like a limp rag, you have absolutely no get up and go.   Yes I have been there , but thankfully without your complications.     3 or 4 days on the good stuff and I am sure they will let you home.    Moral of this story,   blow showering or bathing , we would rather have you in one piece.      Must say well done to Marina.     God bless you both.

  5. Some people  kindly ask me.How do you cope with Cancer? Good question the simple answer  is stay positive. Take all the advice from the experts.Try and maintain  some independence. You at times will feel tied, unwell sometimes  worried. It helps to talk.I gain lots on monthly Macmillian  mornings. Next one Thursday. You get to met others with Cancer. Its never a sad morning, the opposite cheerful encouraging  and uplifting. Also the Macmillian  support  line which has lots of info.Dont forget you're  not alone.Theres help and support  when you need it.

If even in a small way I can help,I will

If anyone wants to speak  to me.Send me a PM I will give you my mobile number.

Stay safe and keep a check  on your health.

  6. Still not out of the woods.I had a MRI and CT in October. Marina and I saw Zac my Consultant  on 21 November. There seemed to be a problem  at first with my head.He sent everything  down to Addenbrookes. They checked and said with my head no treatment  required. Regarding my CT, it showed small spots at the top of my lungs. We discussed  the options and decided  on Chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Then my luck, following  a bowel  screening  test.I had a CT and the camera. Thankfully  no cancer on my stomach  ,but I now have diverticulitis. I now keep a check on what I  eat.Last Thursday  I had my first treatment. So far, not to many side effects. Feel tired  at times. My taste  buds have gone south.Everything tastes of sugar and my mouth is saw.I went to hospital  this morning. They've  given me tablets hopefully  that will sort it out.I will have four treatments 3 weeks apart over 12 weeks. Reviews, then they may reduce the  dose  for up to two years. My treatments  take place  at the Sandra Chapman  Centre  James Paget. It's very relaxed  you can make tea, coffee  and during  treatment  you get lunch.I have access via mobile 24 hours and if I need to go A&E I'm  fast tracked so no waiting hours. Will go straight  onto the ward. I'm okay  feelng a bit overwhelmed  at times, but still continue  to be positive.

  8. 9Last week following a  test on my bowel.Due to the screening test.I was told I had diurticulitis.Something I've never heard  of before.Ive been having problems with my stomach  since September. So on the one hand I'm pleased now knowing what is causing  the pain. The test for me  a CT and the camera,I was in lots of pain.Thankfully that's improved a bit. There are triggers with some foods that cause pain and discomfort. I'm  keeping a food diary.Yesterday fine until about 8.00,then pain.May of been Due to piece of  Swiss roll  of all things.

    So yet again  another  fight.

  9. Sorry won't agree about smoking.Until 18 years ago I was  a heavy  smoker.Even then I hated smokey pubs.If anything more people  visit pubs in better air.Even fairly remote  pubs can been successful. It needs work and gaining a reputation. Not easy but can be done .
