  1. I agree sadly any way you cut it it has changed all ours lives.Yesterday at the hospital very strange. Midday today my phone meeting with my boss and may be out of a job.Only 20 % of us being kept. I think we are almost there, just dont take unnecessary risks. As I said even before this wouldn't go on z packed beach
  2. Some of the hire yards have wife and many pubs.Cloths in a soft bag, better on and off and to store. The broads even in summer can have four seasons, worth remembering. Many local shops have a good selection of food and often you can get much of what you want. Can't help you with fish, only fishing I do is with chips.
  3. The reason for my post is simply I am starting to enjoy some freedom and look forward to more in time.Sorry but at this time it still has to be done slowly. The world has changed dramatically in the last six months. Is it wise to sit on a beach with thousands of others.I think not. Is it wise to demonstrate and or root on mass I think not. Are the numbers of infections and deaths high compared to a population of 60 million plus no However theres not a cure for covad- 19 and is extremely serious if you get it. Yes it appears not to like hot weather, but many countries with high levels of infection and deaths are in hot countries. Believe I am still trying to get rid of a chest infection. Which is worrying with at least four symptoms of covad. Let's walk before we can run. I accept the numbers are going in a right direction, we,ve made so many sacrifices. If we're careful and just be sensible soon life will be better.
  4. Speaking with Marina we both agreed even on a covad free world, doubt we would have gone on such a crowded beach. Yes TV often us stock footage.Think theres no doubt many of the beaches are packed.
  5. They were taking about that on breakfast. Seems they will be doing some social distancing. Not sure how that would work. Also they've said they be kept in isolation, some teams are doing that now.England and the West indies for example. Will.be cost with the record in strictly. Each year some end the series with a different partner.
  6. Good news Strictly will be back on in September. Keeeeeeeep daaannccing.
  7. As we're coming out of lockdown. It seems that some expect everything to open now.As someone who's been shielding for three months, I'm happy to go outside for a walk once a day.The numbers of infections are still high.We still have to take care.looking at beaches yesterday no social distancing. I like many look forward to a pint and a meal a trip on the boat and just a bit more freedom. This chest infection is a worry, they would have taken me to hospital but made it clear with a cough, high temperature and poor breathing. I would have been in a covad ward, and that may have been game over. We have all made so many changes to our lives, which none of us thought wouldn't happen. We will get there but little steps.whos knows in the not to distant future you may see me Marina and Sweetkingfisher on the river and I may buy you a pint. Not all at once I dont have that much money. Enjoy the sun ,stay safe Ian
  8. Welcome ,my advice phone around in a normal year as mentioned August very busy, they may be deals to be done.Richardsons are the biggest based in Stalham.Having a wide range of boats from the smallest to the largest very modern boats ,Herbert woods Potter heigham, are also large. As said the Northern broads in the main are not very tidal, where is the south is more so.I never want to discourage people from travelling south,it is not so busy and many beautiful places. Many great pubs some many different ones.My favourites, the Whitehorse Neatishead and the Lion at Thurne. Great food and much of the beer is brewed by them. You can also stop in some places and jump on a bus.So check on line but a phone call may get you a deal. Ian
  9. I went out today we went to Sidcup. Had to have a blood test and a Xray due to this chest infection. I despite going to hospital enjoyed my trip out.Even if she couldn't get all the blood out of my arm and had to get some out of my hand. Not easy getting blood out of a stone .Thankfully I feel a bit better today still fairly breathless mind. Can you tell ,I've not been out much in the last three months Still odd for me seeing so many people, and nearly all in summer clothes. One chap had not got the memo ,wholly hat and coat.Hopefully next time on the boat and or a pint.
  10. This thing has brought out the good and bad in people. Many have gone out of there way to help others.Sadly some are just interested in themselves I think some may be looking after the fires down below. Like many I'm looking forward to getting back some of my life.My advice if a worker is unduly rude, just have a quiet word with there manger.Staff may have a reasonable reason for being rude,if not there manager should deal with it.
  11. I don't know your supermarket, but some of the things customers have said to my nephew are just not acceptable. Things like hope you get the virus hope you die, when pointed out that there were limits on certain. Items that's when some got really abusive. I will point out I've not been to supermarkets since mid March, but I know how rude the public can be.
  12. PHaving spent a lifetime dealing with the Great British public.Even before this dreadful disease came along. Many sadly are a pain in the rear end and some beyond rude.In the early part of this the abuse supermarket staff had to put up with was unacceptable. My Nephew who works in a supermarket and had abuse every day.It may not happen in pubs etc Only time will tell.
  13. I hope that pub, restaurant and hotel staff.Dont suffer the abuse that many supermarket staff suffered from some members of the public in the early days of this virus.
  14. Thanks,at present I feel that maybe yesterday was the worst day. This morning I feel.better.I will have an xray and a blood test will also take antibiotics and steroids. These I have at home with me all the time due to my COPD. Must admit this thing worried me.My next problem tomorrow I've got a 121 regarding my job,I'm not that hopeful they only want 20% of us.However I pleased that I'm starting to feel better.
  15. So I've been shielded for 13 ,14 weeks now and I landed up.with a chest infection. The Ambulance crew said they could have taken me to hospital, but because as I have a high temperature and a cough I would have been on a covad- 19 ward.Despite what some people say, this thing has a long way to go before we will be safe.
  16. Just had a Ambulance crew here.Since Sunday my breathing has not been good plus I've had a cough. The worse thing I've felt cold, even though it's in the high 20s.Yesterday I phoned 111,talked it though with them then a paramedic phoned me,she advised me to speak with the Surgery which I did. The Nurse practitioner arranged for a chest xray and a blood test. This afternoon, I felt worse so phoned 999.I do have a high temperature and a slight crackle. We talked though the opinions and agreed to stay home, have tests tomorrow and start my ANTIBIOTICS and steroids which I always have at home. All this on Marinas birthday, unfortunately.
  17. Matt Hancock has said we (shielding) Can move around more freely in two weeks time.We will see.
  18. It's worth mentioning, there are exemptions regarding face coverings.Small children and those with breathing problems. Some deaf people who lip read. For me when I went to hospital a few weeks back,I had a face mask and found it very difficult to breathe .At present only going out once a day not coming into contact with people, its not a problem for me.
  19. For a number of weeks now, there's been mixed messages. The very fact that many protests around the Black lives matters demonstrations. The warm weather having the affect that's lots of people gather on beaches, parks etc.And yes some think it won't get me.We still have to be careful of this virus.
  20. Certain parts on the southern broads ,water sking is permitted,at certain times.
  21. A good friend of mine ,I've worked and known him since 1980.He hasn't got a smartphone, he's got a old Nokia. Not long ago he asked in a phone shop if that phone could be upgraded. The chap.said yes two tin cans and a length of string!
  22. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 on EE,I have fairly good coverage every where. Most of the time its okay in Brundall.
  23. I do the lottery, if I win I win I would buy it or we could all form a group and buy it and call it Berney arms , forum on the river.
