  1. If the Norfolk dialect intrigues you from that book look out for "Mighta bin Wuss". By Tony Clarke It comes from a series of articles published weekly in the Eastern Daily Press. These go back to just after the war. I remember my father regaling us in his broad accent every week. Enjoy your retirement. before long you will wonder how you fitted in work into your schedule.
  2. If anyone hasn't donated and would like to, the Charity Mike chose was The Salvation Army. Details in previous posts is still valid
  3. Finally got time to sit down and compose myself and this. I have known Mike since 2005, met him in person in 2009 at a forum meet from the other side. We seemed to hit it off straight away. But that was Mike the affable man as ever. I have over the years enjoyed Mike and Aunty Pat's company on many occasions. So, I thought it fit that I should attend, his last big party here on earth. The most fitting Service, a tribute to his life, we were ushered into the sounds of The Fureys ( a theme which continued throughout the service. ) "My Father's House". After the welcome and Words on Greif. There followed a most wonderful eulogy written By Aunty Pat and her Grandaughter Mary. Then The poem Leader of the Scouts. This was followed by Reflection music again the Furey's, "This one's for you". To which I knew every word and was so poignant. This started the tears welling up. (If you haven't heard it please look it up on YouTube) There was then a continuation of the Eulogy and then the committal. And finally, we filed out to The Fureys "The Old Man" Then followed many hugs and lots of tears. We all alighted to the hotel for nibbles and a good chat, mostly about boating as befits. Must admit to tears most of the way home to Kent. But the journey was worth it to pay my respects to such a great and wonderful man Rest in Peace Mike, pain free at last. Was great to see the NBN so well represented. P.S Griff have fixed the satnav with a 7 pound lump hammer. I'm off for another cry now.
  4. Their web page isn't up and running yet, soon as they have the site will be updated.
  5. Only thing you haven't changed is the ammeter. Would remove it and test the resistance across it should be in point something Ohms. under .2 would be good. alternatively, a pp9 battery and a pair of croc leads should make it max out. Swap the leads round if it's low
  6. It was 11 years ago cannot find the post on her but I remember there being one
  7. So sorry to hear of the passing of a great friend. Had many a long chat with Mike and Pat and enjoyed their hospitality too. To Auntie Pat, please take my heartiest condolences on the loss of a great man. Friend and fellow moderator.
  8. That would be the lovely Courtney Yule. Sadly Due to cuts in the BBC Local Radio programmes. There are only two more Radio Norfolk Treasure quests left. The last one is September 10th. It's been running since 2008 and has become a Sunday morning institution. Has promoted lots of local events and raised lots for Children in need. Sad to see it taken off the airways It must be one of local radio's longest-running shows.

  21. Not making decent headway during your test can mean a mark towards failure. But you also should drive to the conditions.
  22. Yes, be great to watch the progress. But! The content providers on YT do admit that any filming of the process adds significant time to the build of any boat. Tally Ho and Arabella both admit it would have been built a lot quicker if not on YT. But the revenue was part of the reason it was on YT
  23. They must have had a short life, between the 2 and three models.
