  1. Now that's the Broads I remember as a child. Great sets of photos Chris. Thanks for sharing.
  2. But Dave wants it spray painted. It gets a sleeker finish for more speed.
  3. Well, I know it's only Monday. But! The forecast from the Met Office is looking favourable for Friday and Saturday Friday 10 am 13C - 1-4 pm 15C - 7 pm 14C. Wind speeds between 6 - 8 mph. Saturday 10 am 14C - 1-4 pm 15C - 7pm 14C. Wind speeds between 9 - 10 mph. Perfect meet weather
  4. Steve sorry to hear this The places are already booked so if you can, just rock up berth and find me. Hope all goes well for you, was looking forward to catching up.
  5. The RNLI is a limited company registered at companies house and a mostly volunteer service, just as is Hemsby Lifeboat station. Why then is their status any different? Surely just amending the law to any rescue service with appropriate training.
  6. No tricks in your head It is traditional to have a C-in-C from Malthouse to Salhouse each meet. Usually bedecked with flags and Bunting.
  7. Don't have to be! Android 12, 6.9 inch rugged phone does everything a £700 Samsung does. Penny under £170. Very likely made in the same factory as the top-end phone in China, cheap sim cost under a tenner a month. I'm happy.
  8. It would need to be 1/4 scale to fit Grendel in
  9. The moorings have been secured for those who are attending and these have been paid for. Moorings are £12 per night. Can we please have your mooring fees paid by the Donate button ( Below the adverts on left). Can you please leave a note, as to your forum name and which boat you are paying for. For anyone wishing to attend that hasn't booked yet we do have a few spares just in case.
  10. 3 do a good deal on data sims 24gb lasts 24 months £34.99. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M3VJ2B2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  11. As of CC's post above it's now crunch time. If you wish to attend the meeting on the 19th and 20th May please let us know in the next few days, as we have to submit our final figures to Salhouse by Tuesday and pay for the moorings in advance to assure our spot.
  12. Will be sorely missed especially at the BWBS. One of the Broads special charachters. Had a few good chats with Andrew. Always came away with a smile on my face.
  13. Lived very close to me, would often see him and his partner shopping in the town. If you said hi he would always respond with a cheery voice and sometimes stop for a quick chat. Truly a man of the people and will be sadly missed locally. Quick Paul O Grady anecdote I took a semi-temporary stewardship of a golf club locally when I came out of Pubs. Ladies division sprang a surprise party on me and wanted Pink Champagne which the suppliers couldn't supply Down to the local Waitrose and purchase 5x 6 packs and headed to checkout POG was in front of me in the queue with a trolley with quite a few bottles of booze in it "Having a party" he said. I quickly riposted with "Yes but you're not invited we need enough to go around". At which point he came and shook my hand.
  14. Having worked as a recovery driver. Whilst in the Motor Trade. The police class accidents on the probability of whose fault it is. In single vehicle crashes It usually put on the report that it's a PICNIC, PRODE! Problem Is Clearly Not In Car , Problem Really Obvious Driver Error
  15. Some great Drone shots on BBC Norfolk of the sections being lifted https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-norfolk-65042679
  16. I had heard that he was working on a mini Griff as a sideline. The animatronics were not a problem and had those working to a T. It was getting the swear words in a Yorkshire accent that were the problem. And being the pedant he is, he went for the electric winch.
  17. I'm afraid for Journalism in this new-fangled regime of newspapers, there seems to be too much desktop reporting going on now. Journos sitting at a desk picking random stories from internet content. Writing an article around the facts gleaned from the court reports, or someones content on Faceache or Twatter. In the court scenario, they just seem to grab the nearest stock photo from file, to illustrate their story. Whether that photo shows people, reg numbers or what, no consent seems to be given for them to be published. It seems to be going back to the "Publish and be damned" era but in a different context.
  18. No it's the coefficient of drag on the rust flakes that slows it down
  19. Severe fire has been reported as Southery on the Gt Ouse. On the Denver cruising club https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/23388675.a10-southery-closed-fire-denver-cruising-club/
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum membership
  21. Maybe if they could find room for a tea/coffee/drinks machine and a vending machine for sandwiches and cake, they could resubmit the plans for their Acle Debacle.
  22. Surely that's just a flat Yorkshire pudding.
  23. When I had a job as second in command of a Hire shop chain. I was also deemed as chief of the unloading gang for the Butane and Propane we sold. Myself and my deputy for unloading were sent on the fire training course from the supplier of the gas. Rolling bottles across the concrete with flames gushing from the outlet was not fun trying to put that out. most spectacular though was a standing 47kg propane bottle with the tap fully open and alight, wearing one glove going up from behind and just turning off the tap. No, it doesn't get hot as the flame doesn't start burning until about 2cm from the nozzle when it has oxygen mixed with it. Lived in Kent course was in Wymondham, as was the fire station for the fire fighting, hotel in Norwich for two nights had a whale of a time.
  24. Looks like the way it went up. There is going to be a lot of serious dredging needed. Looks like about 200 tons of sand landed in the Yare
