  1. I've just changed laptops at the weekend and am getting used to it slowly but today pulling my hair out trying to get my old Epson R200 to print. My wife's payslip is sent as a PDF but once its opened it appears on a separate page but there's nowhere that says print. Jim
  2. Does this signal the end for the caravan now Ted and a deposit on a Broads cruiser. LoL I knew you'd enjoy it Jim
  3. Please someone PM me and tell me it's not Alpha Swift, we're due to go on her in 4 weeks time. Jim
  4. [quote="Hockham Admiral We will be about the Yare that week so pls keep us posted! We'll also be there from the 23rd July on Alpha Swift from Brundall, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for you all, must remember to put the forum flag in the windows. Jim
  5. We've booked a week on Alpha Swift at Brundall so that we can tour the southern half of the broads, we did the northern half this year on our first boating holiday and loved it so much we just had to come back.I have fond memories of the Beauchamp Arms from 50 years ago as we stayed in a static caravan there 2 years running, sadly the site is no more as we discovered last year. They may be expensive but has anyone seen how much they are to hire in France, I was checking the Hoseason's website and the prices are staggering, £4000. Why? Jim
  7. Hi again folks and thanks to you all for your valued advice, we've spent the last week looking at every boatyard over and over again, and we fancy either the Alpha Swift or Silver Mystique, although Jacqui prefers the Alpha Swift, also decided to go in the summer again if we can get the boat we want. Has anyone any experience of either boat? Are we able to book direct with Alpha or will we have to go through Hoseason's? Thanks also to Geoff for that excellent story. I'm also looking forward to seeing the Beauchamp Arms again, I last stayed there 50 years ago when they had a caravan site behind the hotel. Jim
  8. Sorry, forgot to add, should we be looking to book asap for Whitsun 2012? Jim
  9. We've just had our first week ever on the Broads and thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that we'd like to do it again next year but at Whitsun instead of summer so we'd like some help from you regulars please. This year we only did the northern section of the Broads so next year we plan to do the south. Firstly, what's the weather generally like, will the boat be warm enough at night? Also is there enough to keep us occupied for a whole week in the southern half. The other little problem is which boatyard to go for, this year we used Richardson's at Stalham and their service was excellent, we could use their Acle yard which would involve the Gt. Yarmouth bridges/Breydon Water crossing or use a boatyard on the southern half which would negate the latter, problem is we don't know any southern boatyards on a par with Richardson's so what would anyone recommend. Jim
  10. I don't mind paying 2 fees as long as the caravan doesn't get damaged ( aluminium sides ), don't really want to park it up outside where it's in full view of any suspicious characters. Jim
  11. My wife and me have hired Star Gem 6 at the Stalham yard for a week next year, this will be the first time we've done this as we are caravanners normally. We will be using the caravan for the 2 weeks next year before calling at Stalham for our boating holiday and want to store both car and caravan under cover at the yard. Has anyone done this before. Thanks in anticipation. Jim
