    My Day

I picked the best day of the week to move the boat from Horning to Brundall yesterday. Fuelled up and pump out at Boulters 8.30am arrived at Brundall 4.30pm even allowing for fighting the tide south side as no choice to get there before full darkness set in. John
  8. Some of the early Broom 29s had this Nanni 37hp engine, looks like their hire fleet were fitted with them as well. Good engine if a little underpowered and better than the 50hp Volvo Md22 which was also fitted at first. A lot of the last private ones built had a 62hp engine fitted. John

    Flooding

Thought I would check on the boat at Horning this morning only from Salhouse, bad idea what with the road works on Norwich Rd Wroxham, water on the road near the boat yard then ferry road Horning impassable ( Tractor and waders over 3ft deep in parts ) tractor and trailer taking cars from ferry marina to dry land at the top of the road. I havenโ€™t seen it quite as bad for a few years. John
  10. This is so true just been down to Horning itโ€™s quite bad, the road down to the ferry is a no go for cars would need a decent pair of wellies to even attempt it! John
  11. No the majority donโ€™t certainly not in our family and circles!
  12. House across the road from us has their christmas tree up and externall lights !
  13. Agree the upholstery is typical 1990s Brister craft so would be getting on 30 yers old. The damp water marks on the woodwork would put me off, I have seen quite a few like that recently as looking for a possible change of boat again! John

Bit of a night nav through Brundall was enjoyed last night, sea shanty group on at Coldham hall so very atmospheric. Love this river never crowded always scenic Had to be very careful of unlit paddle boarders and a couple of tenders, there wasnt much moonlight 9pm. Now on mudweight Bargate. John

  22. So sorry to hear this news RIP Mike John
  23. I've always found the Saphire not the easiest for stern access with the high deck. There is a modern/ later version 99k at NYA which is quite nice and better steps at the stern but it's been for sale a while. John
