  2. A11 now fully open both carriageways all cones removed (apart from lay-bys) Not sure if night closures are still in operation John
  3. The 2 pubs in Salhouse (Lodge and Stag) are another level in quality from most broadland pubs. Make sure you book even midweek as they are fully booked 7 days. John

  7. We walked down to Glassen dock when we hired on the Lancaster canal earlier in the year. Very scenic but beware the crazy swan that nests on the tow path!

  9. The last bank in Wroxham has given notice of closure (1st December 2023). Not a good move with all the older generation and holiday makers in the area! John
  10. We have booked the same boat ( Lady Victoria) on the Thames next September John
  11. Same a couple of weeks ago (Saturday afternoon) when we were passing on the river, maybe a weekly thing.

  13. That Madri stuff is everywhere The marketing looks like it's from Spain but the spanish have never heard of it. Good bit of marketing /rebrand from Coors/ miller brewery as their Carling wasn't doing too well and get away with chargeing an extra £1 a pint! Sorry just saying, enjoy your holiday you've picked a good week 😀

  15. Both pubs now open this week in Salhouse The Stag and Salhouse lodge (kept its original name) i hope they both do well. John
  16. I put our front boat name decals on from Brian Wards yesterday at last always service with a smile very nice people to deal with. John
  17. They are really going for it this year to upset the boaters. I guess it’s a good time for it to come out in the open as most people have paid their toll !
  18. The Geese are standing guard at Irstead this morning making sure no one is mooring up 😂 It was never empty like this when we used to go past in the boat ! John

  20. Very few boats around this morning on the Yare photo Bramerton Common 6.50 this morning. John
  21. No not the same owners, the Stag was bought by the same people who own and live at Salhouse Hall. The Lodge was bought by Colchester Inns ( Recruiting Sergeant group ). John
  22. The Stag Pub (formally the Bell ) at Salhouse is coming along nicely. They have really gone to town on this refurb (it was very much needed ). Should be open early June I reckon. Also the Salhouse Lodge (I think this is to be called The Buck ) should be re opening around the same time again. So 2 new venues for our village and both pleasant walking distance from Salhouse broad moorings on a summers day. John
  23. We had a special gift on coronation day a Granddaughter born this afternoon , welcome to the world little Ivy 😍
  24. £1000 for a week what was a 4 berth boat. Not sure what broads hire prices are at the moment as we have had our own boat for a good few years John
  25. You looked in for the afternoon when we passed you a couple of hours ago on Noah’s Ark 😀👍 John
