Awfull lot of pigeons nearby at Riverside being fattened up by the general public.

In the late 60's and early 70's as youngsters my best friend and i would regulaly fish the river at Whitlingham close to what i now know as Comisionors cut.The coasters were quite a common site and if we hadn't notice one comming we were soon alerted by the sudden drop in the river level.

I do a lot of walking in and around Norwich and usually pass New mills twice a week.Yesterday there was only one sluice open with moderate flow.Last week,possibly after the request to help drain the non tideal reaches both main sluices were open with water coming through at a rate i had never seen before.There were rafts of foam hundreds of meters down stream and as far down as the yacht station the flow was causing large bankside swirls and eddies.

On Youtube,John Atkins "Lost Norwich" ,has many short videos comparing the Norwich of the past and the present.

looking at the 0 to 60 times of the Tesla,in the real world i recon it would be disappearing into the distance as i desperatly tried to get the front wheel of my old R1 back to the ground.

That the EA granted a permit,even after their own fisheries experts formaly opposed it beggars belief.

Last year i saw a sizable one polishing off what looked to have been a double figure pike at the limit of navigation,New Mills Yard.A few months later a smaller you popped its head up between my bungs on Bargate.Sadly one of a number of reasons for the decline of the pike fishing on the system.

Been great watching them go at one another race after race,hope for a last race finale although Verstapen could clinch it 2 weeks time.

Many yeas ago when i was a keen piker i fancied a night sesion on the grass there. Prior to my chosen night i popped into the pub for a beer & the then manager agreed i could fish.On the night mine was one of a handfull of cars in the carpark,there was hardly a breath of wind, no boats wishing to moor & i sat quietly contemplating when there was a crash behind me.The handbrake on one of the employees cars had failed & it had rolled down the slope into the back of my Peugeot 405 estate which had already had a troubled life.With no discernible new damage we had a laugh about it,she went back to work i & spent a pleasant few hours catching nothing.

woulld your 14's be comfy if the bed was built a bit lower?
