I have hired from Pacific Cruisers for many years and after the first couple never had a trial run.
Richard always went through the boat in detail but waived the trial run.
When we arrived in 2022 he apologised but stated we would have to have a full trial did to conditions imposed by his insurers.
No problem to us. Similarly we had a trial run in 2023.
They also insist on all crew wearing life jackets for the trial run.
Back again in July this year when I am sure we will have a trial run again

My partner and I wish to do a river cruise next year that moors at Heidelberg.
I have tried all the main operators but they seem to stop on the Rhine and coach you to Heidelberg.
Any help would be appreciated

I always slow down passing moored boats, kayaks and paddle boards
You learn quickly on the canals not to speed
If you do you you will soon get shouted at
So it is natural for me to slow down

We do not seen to have mentioned Vaughan's yard at Womack

Their was a small shop and hard their before Vaughan took over
I believe but not sure if was owned by someone called Gedge
I am sure Vaughan will put my sketchy details right

My first trip as Skipper was Bell Boats Aquabell we learnt how not to cross Breydon on that trip treated it with great respect ever since
