    Road Works 2020

Yes just seen a FB post relating to Wayford Bridge being closed for works in November! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  3. My post related to the physical safety aspects of someone with no boating or broads experience hiring a boat that is 46 feet long! Yes start somewhere in something but not necessarily something so big and powerful?
  4. When you see posts on FB like this - isn't it no wonder - the boat in question being hired was probably one of the largest available! Its quite frightening! Booked the ***** for next summer, has anyone hired it before? I’ve never been boating and have no idea about anything Broads related!
  5. If only but this autumn we are grounded in Hertfordshire! Long story!
  6. I let you into a secret that the remaining original fitting is about 10 years old. The old aluminum flip like catches were replaced, fitted upside down and three of four broke within the first season - hence the screws!
  7. Those brass screws are a classic fitting!!!! Have a lovely weekend. It will be this weekend last year I made the difficult decision to find a new custodian for her. We went to Barton Regatta as usual and the weather was glorious - a fitting but sad end to a very long era. Cooked roast loin of pork and trimmings for 8 people and drank a lot of wine! I am so pleased she is being used and enjoyed! I was sent a photo of her last week out and about on the Waveney! Liz
  8. You also need to careful lining up for Bishop's Bridge on the return as the last time I did it there were fishermen near it. Just take it nice and slow and enjoy the experience. Aim to be doing it near high tide. If there has been a lot of rain, there might a bit of a current at New Mills so make sure she behaves turning as the sides are brick!!! 9. The problem would be is that they are all fully booked at present and wouldn't be in a position to offer an alternative day? Keeping to sheltered stretches should be fine
  10. I believe the one in Wroxham (Hoveton) has also closed but I read it might have new owners?? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  11. We always had fresh water containers as well for emergencies and the tank water is not considered drinkable unless boiled Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  12. It has shut for good but the people behind it are still trading Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  13. Might as well make the 100th post by adding a smiley face [emoji3] Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  14. Ditto in Ware! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  15. I know we saw a photo but did the dog and puppies actually ever exist or was it one huge con?
  16. Is the mooring where a ferry went across to the marshes from the Waveney River Centre? Or somewhere else? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  17. We were booked to go to Greece and islands in four weeks time. Still on the okay list but because of our daughter's health problem we don't feel happy going away for any length of time. Thankfully our holiday insurance will cover the non refundable areas due to family health issues. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  18. I'll let you find them!!!! Its been so dry she will definitely leak! If it chucks it down, watch the front top windows! It can well up in the runners! Guaranteed to pour down just as you want to go under Beccles but as you said yesterday it would have been possible with the canopy up! We never took her under the old railway bridge at Geldeston - the cut needless to say wasn't there. All sounds idyllic - the Broads at their best!
  19. Did she have one of her special 'behaving bad moments'? Decides to do the complete opposite to what you want to do, normally in front of a whole load of people and usually at a critical moment!
  20. Luxury on a boat built in 1933!!! Hope you are enjoying her even in the heat!
  21. WR has three domestic and one to start. Didn't realise there was a leak from the starboard water tank, that would explain a constant supply of water in the bilge!!!
  22. She does need a bit of a run and high rev count to keep those batteries topped up especially in this hot weather. Hope you left the batteries set to 2 not 1 or both otherwise you might have struggle starting her? I am afraid at Barton Regatta I have to run the engine during the day, to keep the fridge working. When filling up the water do it slowly, it if appears to be very full very quickly, the air lock between the two tanks will have kicked in. Clue to completely full tanks is water flowing freely from the front washbasin without the pump on! Also don't let the tank overflow too much otherwise you might have a wet bunk especially on the port side!!!!
