  1. I’ve had the app on my phone for a long time but rarely use it. I prefer just using the website as normal in a browser. I got fed up with all our emoticons appearing as the text codes behind them instead of the pictures. I don’t know whether that ever changed.
  2. Many congratulations to you Griff and all the family. That was certainly quick but so lovely to have good news.
  3. It’s a vast improvement this afternoon with the hamburger menu back and being able to get to notifications and messages and the ability to change which view I’m looking at, all on the browser on my phone. Great stuff. Thank you so much.
  4. Lovely photos. How wonderful to see that kingfisher posing for you. Sounds like you had a nice trip.
  5. I thought that I would give the app another go this evening. It loaded with me logged in which was an improvement on my last try. But there was no content now at all.
  6. Lovely photos David. You must be eager for your next trip on board Goosander. We stayed at another Premier Inn recently and found it very comfortable and relaxing.
  7. I am accessing the forum on a Safari browser on an iPhone. I have a personalised view set up but can’t see how I can get to other options such as Last 24 Hours. I can’t see how to get to messages. And the most recent post still isn’t necessarily the one showing against a topic. I expect you know about these but thought I would add them for the benefit of visibility to others.
  8. We received this as well. We used to go down to Bluewater from time to time along with other occasional journeys south. But we really weren’t using it now so were happy to let it close.
  9. Very interesting. I had read some of this. The north beach definitely looked as if there had been noticeable erosion along there when we returned to the area this summer. We saw the body of the whale that had been left down there as well. I was surprised that it hadn’t been removed although admittedly I don’t know what that involves.
  10. I picked up on this yesterday. Sad to see another incident down there. It will be interesting to see whether it leads to any kind of investigation depending on whether it’s in any way similar to the last one. For now I just wish all the best to those involved.
  11. We had Zircon last year. Beware there is a very deep step in through the rear door. And the table in the sitting area gets in the way a bit. Ferry Marina apparently didn’t do the fit out on this one according to an engineer we were talking to. But they have another very similar boat without the table there. Lovely boat but I would take Fair Marquess if I was going again and wanting that style of boat.
  12. Useful to know that the app is ok. I don’t usually use it preferring the browser even when I’m in my mobile phone. But it’s very useful right now. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  13. I’ve stayed at the Premier Inn by the river in Norwich as well. That was also very good, just depends whether you want to be going into the city centre. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  14. I saw that when we were looking. Premier Inn was £38 and exactly what we needed.
  15. Depending what you are looking for I tend to find that a Premier Inn is as good as anywhere. I used one recently which was at Broadlands Business Park just off the A47, east of Norwich. Room was great, bed very comfortable and the food good in the Brewers Fayre restaurant. All very well organised and COVID secure.
  16. You’ve certainly got some nice weather out there at the moment. Hope your plans work out. :)
  17. Enjoy your time afloat. The weather looks to be warming back up over the next few days. 😎
  18. I remember my first Broads holiday with time spent studying a map and trying to work out a route especially as we had young children with us at the time. It didn’t work. Some places were full so we carried on to other moorings. Some places we liked and went back to. And the children enjoyed the simple things like standing at the helm or feeding the ducks. These days because we have been back many times over the last few years we know where our favourite moorings are. And the only plan we make is ensuring we end up close enough to the boatyard on the final night for returning the boat the next morning.
  19. You could go to our holiday tales section and have a read there. I’ve hired a few times from Ferry Marina and it’s a great place to start from. If you go back a few pages, might be October 17, you should find one I posted from a week out on Bronze Emblem. That was a memorable week and our route worked out well. There will also be a video at the end of it.
  20. Sorry to read your news Ian. Hope the scan gets done without delay and your head wound is healing up.
  21. I’ve never stopped in Stalham. For me though the upper Ant is all about Wayford Bridge and Sutton along with Paddy’s Lane. Then I love crossing Barton Broad and the stretch through Irstead.
  22. Right now it’s quite good because you can order from your table using the Greene King app and pay that way too. This keeps contact with anyone else to an absolute minimum.
  23. I’m the same about hiring from Richardson’s - the Ant becomes a transit route instead of a destination to be enjoyed. So I like to hire from different yards to vary our likely routes for the week. Horning makes a great start and finish point which is just one of the reasons why I like hiring from Ferry Marina.
  24. Sounds great. Yesterday turned into a beautiful day. We like a day at Ranworth in the middle of a holiday and do very similar to you, cruise early then moor up and chill out for the day. Was the Staithe full? Have a great day wherever it leads you.
  25. Definitely. I almost feel cheated if it doesn’t happen just once on our boating holidays. Love it in the caravan as well.
