  1. Well got stuck with this in southern Denmark this week, on the way back from the pub to the hotel. Still got back to CPH for my flight back home to: silly uncle Fred. 👍🏻
  2. Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious .... was another one we knew well.
  3. We still get free AA cover with main dealer service on our Chinese MG’s, plus a 7 year transferable warranty. 🤔. So I guess Clarkson and May got it partly right back in 2012 on TG? Cheers Paul
  4. Is that paddle boards or sailing boats 🤪🤣 cheers Paul
  5. Hey there, There could be a few folks on here that may have or know of something, it depends on what type of boat you’re looking for and your budget etc. kind regards Paul
  6. Again I fully agree, however I guess some folks just don’t know this, nor do they realise, that in reality when you work it out the time saved is pretty much nothing.
  7. Fully agree, however the way things appear to be going, no worries about mooring at the pubs, you can all keep that, it’s the remaining moorings that appear to be in decline. Especially I guess for those who need access to the land, for some I guess this can add a whole heap of stress to get we’re they need to as quickly as possible, to make sure they get there before the rest. Praise be the mud weights… the best stress relief/plan B going 👍
  8. It’s the ratio that’s different.
  9. I agree adding pontoon moorings, but the push towards longer, wider and taller boats, that can’t on a lot of occasions navigate some bridges, this has the effect of condensing these boats that soon fill up moorings in to specific available areas. Maybe some of the yards also need to consider the size and height of their boats, vs mooring options 🤔
  10. It’s the slippery seaweed that is the problem. 🤔
  11. We were up from Wednesday to Sunday. After getting drenched 3 times, and the thought of this weekends weather stuck on the boat, we packed up and came home toady. (Friday midday, leaving before more forecasted rain and the high winds over the weekend). Where has summer gone? cheers Paul
  12. Maybe not just an age thing? I was always told when passing moored craft especially in areas were there are lost of boats, mariners, yards and built up areas, not to create more wash that could rock a dingy.
  13. How about a “SPEED: dead slow beyond this point” sign? That gets around the speed limits issue. No one really knows what 3mph or any other speed really is on a boat anyway, as it is just not relative to some, the ones that get it right check their wash, the minority just don’t care and nothing will reach them anyway, unless you get you own back a pour your dinner over them to see how they like it. Instead of speed limits, wash hight 🌊 signs would probably be more effective or both? kind regards Paul
  14. If you can get some of the bubble wrap that is covered in foil used for insulation, a roll or two used to cover your cabin windows during the day when the sun is out during hot days, makes for keeping the cabin much cooler. 👍🏻
  15. Hello James 👋 That doesn’t seem to be a too bad price, I guess that includes the Vague Addition to the Total? (VAT)? Some of the less accessible moorings (for some) above those bridges can sometimes offer some lower cost options, it’s worth having a look through the different yards to see what they can offer, and of course if you’re happy and able to pass the bridge/s? If you can it can also be beneficial to arrange a look around the moorings to compare with what you have vs what may be saved. Happy hunting Kind regards Paul
  16. DG signs (they have a web site not sure how to add the link), did our boat names. These were placed onto marine grade brushed alloy. They do many types of signage, boat and vehicle graphics for all sorts of applications and marinas in and around Suffolk, and surrounding areas. They will set up, print or cut from different types of materials, and also arrange to post out if required. These are industrial strength decals/graphics and will last for a very long time. When visiting them they were preparing the graphics for a Sunseeker which included a boot topper, I was surprised by this that a graphic would be used here, however they advised the vinyl they use would last much longer than any paint without fading etc and could be more easily removed without damaging the gel if ever a colour change etc. Was required. It got me thinking about this during the next lift out 🤔. Worth a look. 👍🏻
  17. The BA will of course give us all a reduction on next seasons boat toll with all the extra revenue gained, they are non profit making so they will have to “loose” it somewhere. 😂.
  18. Yes it is installed on to a 1.8 BMC. 😊 It’s got a Bowman heat exchanger. It’s well aligned and the belt looks to be as you mention. 👍🏻. Looks a little loose but runs well etc. There has always been a slight weep from the pumps shaft at times, I was thinking of changing over to one of the sealed pumps, I think Johnson do one that is almost a straight replacement, may need to enlarge the diameter of the pulls or replace it? All sounds great but have learnt for one reason or another, nothing that done on a boat is easy, even when it should be. 🤔😜😂. Will have to have a look next time. 👍🏻 Cheers Paul.
  19. That’s got me thinking 🤔. Bought our boat back in 2010. Had the raw water pump on the list of things to change as the old one, (still installed) would need packing out and one of the old type grease glands had it’s treads stripped. Engine servicing is regularly carried out each year, however I have never changed the raw water impeller or removed it. There’s always a good flow of water out of the exhaust, so never really felt the need to fiddle with it? (The impeller). We have a spare on board if ever needed. In some 40 or so years of boating it’s not something I have ever paid too much attention to as long as there is a good flow? I think I will add it to the list of de-winterisation updates as 12 years may be pushing it? 😜 To be fair it’s not something it have ever heard of folks doing?
  20. The MGZT I had for quite some years was called MGFred named by my son when he was 5. Had that for a number of years treating myself to a Jag XF. Replaced this with my Dads old 75 estate. Now with some new MGs and the other half’s 500c, the only two cars there’s ever been an attachment with were the 75 and the ZT, also I think these were the better card given their ages and miles put on them. The 75 2002 went to a new home just last week, still find myself looking at the space on the driveway with fond memories 🤪
  21. So what about one of those pies where you get the filling in a small casserole bowl with pastry on top? Is that still classified as a pie?
  22. We all know the answer….Dilithium crystals it’s so obvious 🤔 If there is a shortage of these get hold of a flux capacitor and send everything back to the future 👍. Think we will be stuck with Dino go-juice for a while as yet.
  23. 🤔 could boat’s possibly harness the wind somehow to assist with propulsion? I think the same it will never catch on, here’s to rowing 🚣‍♀️👍
  24. The penny has just dropped, so you are currently looking after 5x5. I thought her disappearance in the past meant she may have ended up somewhere else 💨 .Pleased to hear she didn’t go that way, like so many around that time. 👍
