  1. Well just moored up a potters before heading to Ranworth and flooded behind bungalows and about 6 inches of banking available on 24 hr mooring so lower I would say
  2. I changed from a gas fridge around 3/4 years ago, but remember it would use around 1 gas cylinder every 2 weeks if your lucky. Now I cannot remember the last time I changed the cylinder so way less consumption. The fridge did get a colder but not that much difference.
  3. Well my sister is heading to the boat for a few days, with the family for the first time in around 15 years. So meeting up to provide some pointers but if you see them struggling on the river I sure she would appreciate some advice. I am a little nervous about it but they should be OK I just hope they have good weather as not looking great. Then my dad is on the boat from for a week. So the boat will be busy in August hopefully everyone is enjoying the summer so far.
  4. Lift out and land storage from Dec to March was £500, but did all the painting and bottom work myself and mooring feed vary whether ever you moor. But costs me around £1700 in mooring and lifting and storage fees in total. Then whatever Derv and pumps out you need. Paint for boat was around £150. So cost me around £3k per year depending on whether I do any upgraded this year during the winter will be working on Galley
  5. Hi Roy I pay £153 insurance and £375.44 for Broads Authority. Then mooring and lifting land storage fees etc if this helps. This is for a Hampton MK3
  6. Yep good to see she is still around and not broken up
  7. This picture was taken just before the heavens opened with heavy rain which has now cleared
  8. Spotted this boat while walking around lake lothing was this the one from the centre of Norwich I also took these photos when they moving her near Berney Arms in June 2018. I thought the boat got broken up?
  9. Maidencraft was next door to kingfisher cruisers slight more upstream. They were separate operators and different sites but worked closely. I think their site is now a bungalow or something like that. I would assume kingfisher helped them with maintenance and stuff.
  10. Yep timeless is based at Upton Dyke, bob is normally on the river system saw him today in potters. My first boat hire was Kingfisher Sundance when I was in year 6 at Primary School for Easter. I wrote a book about the adventure as it was fantastic. There was 9 us my mum and dad, brother and sister, and my dad's twin sister and family. Before hiring for several years my dad took the caravan to Bureside and my dad would take three trips 1x towing boat to Bureside, then caravan then going back to pick boat up. We had a trailer sailer for many years ever since I can remember. The boat is currently located at Carrington Waters Derbyshire under different ownership but seem wired seeing the boat. Went everywhere in that boat Torquay sailing in the bay, Tenby Sandersfoot , Poole, Salcome, Lake District, York, Lincoln it was great Boating all my life really but not always in Norfolk Also sailed that boat off Filey a few times but launching in the sea from the beach was not ideal. I have sailed off the Yorkshire coast a few times at Bird and Filey a few times but only in dinghies namely an Enterprise / Merlin Hired from Richardson / Kingfisher / Faircraft / Herbert woods and Wood Dyke Boatyard.
  11. Normally public authorities have to published a fees and charges policy, and all new fees or charges require authorisation and amendment to the policy by the authorities members or executive when a fee is introduced partway through a year etc. The policy should also confirm how new fees are introduced etc if this is not by members. Normally all fees and charges are reviewed every year, like the toll. So if they have not gone through due process for a new fee it may be unlawful anyway. I didn't see anything in the report to member about additional £60 fee for none payment. A Quick search on their website for fees and charges does not list anything normally all charges are listed within a policy. Maybe worth asking them directly for this this policy. From what I understand they are not exempt from this requirement for public authorities, so I would assume they have gone through due process for this new fee / charge however the details have not been published yet. I have just emailed the BA an FOI requesting to see their policy on fees and charges.

  13. I crossed Breydon on Saturday afternoon, and I can see why people have got confused with markers if they are new to the area. It could be clearer especially when travelling from North to South. Boating incidents can happen to anyone including the experienced. I would assume the BA will have reviewed these matters already.
  14. A hire boat hit my boat while moored on the 24 HR Womack Water moorings around 3 weeks ago. It snapped the flag on the back, I have given up contacting them as they are not interested. If the damage was more substantial would take further. My boat was moored and it was a right bang on the stern. So don't take things for granted if someone hits you while moored regardless if hire or private, or whether they are award winners or not.
