  1. I have never heard of an egg coming out of a chicken with a "best before"date stamped on it so how can someone in a packing plant tell you this egg is ok until ********?

  2. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if you are given a receipt to display to show that you have paid for the privilege of using the mooring?

If the answer to this is yes then did anyone check to see if the vessel in Grendel's photo had paid as a dayboat or the  price for a normal boat?

I have a sneaky idea that the boat in question is registered to the BA but did whoever was them helm pay to moor it there?

Perhaps they were in the visitor centre paying the fee at the time!!!!!!!

  3. Just been looking on the BB webcam and have to say how impressive Clifton Bridge looks .

Taking into account the time of year it looks exceptional.

Very clean and tidy , no scuff marks , everything about it makes it look as good as a new boat.

Well done Bridgecraft . It just shows that with attention to detail it can be done!!!

Or is it that they only hire to Very careful customers?

  4. If Horsefen Road is such a problem for access why don't the BA ask themselves for permission to "borrow" a few quid from the petty cash to go and buy a couple of tins of yellow paint and a couple of paint brushes.

They could then ask one or two "volunteer rangers" to paint some pretty lines down the side of the road. (no labour charge)

Access problem and possibly pedestrian's safety solved !!!

  5. I wonder, if the BA wanted to create an information centre (or converted telephone box) would the planning application be approved with or without any objections?

Or would the change be made and planning be approved afterwards ( if it ever went to the point that approval was needed)?

  6. If all the yards charged a sensible price in the first place they would not have to offer huge discounts to get their boats out of the yard

It seems to me that following Covid they are still trying to recoup what they missed out and so increase the prices for those who cloud not hire a boat at that time.

  7. Hi Lulu,

Love the "new" pictures in your photo.

I have just had my second coffee of the day in my mug with the same picture of Wroxham on my mug , (also bought from Roys)

  8. 1 hour ago, Mouldy said:

It’s that good that the residents can’t wait to escape to Norfolk!  Strange that!  :default_rofl:

We come down there al the time to try to make it as good as God's own county.

Still quite a way to go though in some areas.  lol

  9. I remember that not very long ago, it was always mentioned on the trial run that if there was anything that you were not sure of then "ask and we will go through it again until you are ok with it".

This was the norm at every boatyard I have hired from.

Are you not allowed to ask questions nowadays or is it "get it right first time or you are out" ?

Can you imagine the queue of cars waiting to be dealt with blocking the road outside the yard ?

  10.        I have been informed this morning that the dredging work on the River Ant got as far as the entrance to Richardsons and then ended.

I am told that the rest of the job will continue next year !

Apparently the area up to Stalham staithe was programmed for four years ago and has still not been done.

Anybody got any more information on the situation?

    Jeff
