  1. Somewhere at the very back of my memory I seem to recall a pub next to Kings Head in Wroxham (Hoveton to be politically correct.) The name I think was the Horseshoes and it's beer was very similar to our local brew at the time...Hull Brewery. I am going back to mid 60's Can anyone shed any light on this or correct me if my memory is fading as it get older. Jeff
  2. It's good to hear that the Ferry has had what sounds like a huge improvement. We used to enjoy a meal there before it went downhill a while back now. Must remember to check it out again when we are down that way again layer in the year Thanks. Jeff
  3. II's not a problem in not getting to Lathams. Not being able to get to the chippy is more of a problem !!!!!! Jeff
  4. simple and swift remedy. !! Get the army in to construct a Bailey bridge over the existing one. Gives the Royal Engineers something to do and solves the problem all in about 24 hours Surely it could be arranged for a member of the "National Parks" group. (Tongue is now stuck firmly in cheek) Jeff
  5. Many, many thanks to the Moderators Team for all their devotion to duty. We are extremely lucky to have such a sincere, devoted team. Merry Christmas to all of you, Thanks Jeff
  6. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and gets most of what they would like........hopefully with instructions written in proper English so you can understand what you are supposed to put with what. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone. Jeff
  7. I second all the above comments. At difficult times this forum is a godsend and viewing the webcams every day really does help with sanity. I wish all members and "THE MANAGEMENT" a very merry Christmas and a very very happy and prosperous 2023 Jeff
  8. I am not going to make it too easy for you but will say one is red and one is yellow Jeff
  9. I notice that a couple of the bulbs need replacing !!! Jeff
  10. It amazes me that a bloke who "trains" for hours and hours can't kick a ball into a massive hole with another bloke stood in the middle of it. On top of that he is regarded as the best this country has!!!!!!!!!! And he gets paid a fortune for not being able to do his job properly Jeff
  11. It looks like they had to get the strimmer out so they could get near it !!! Jeff
  12. I can't understand why there is such a major problem with refunding all monies paid to a company who can no longer supply the item ordered and not yet supplied. Why should they accept a " low deposit" and not refund it as they cannot provide the item as ordered? On top of that they turn round and tell you that you have not paid enough for something that you are not going to get !! I can remember the days when you could "reserve" a boat for a particular date 12 months later without paying a penny. You would then receive a letter in January asking if you wanted to make it a firm booking and if the answer is YES please send a deposit of x pounds by a specified date. It seems to me that nowadays booking agents are there to rip you off rather than treat you as a valued customer. !!! Jeff
  13. Maybe they got a long tube and fitted it to the tyres and then got a lot of people to blow into it !!! Jeff
  14. Happy Birthday from me too Simon. How does it feel to be a significant number of years old? Jeff
  15. Maybe if "offenders" were made to pay for their room and board it would be more of a deterrent. !! Some will see it as somewhere to sleep with all meals provided and laundry sorted for you. Jeff
  16. Driving license should be removed from the offender and stored in an incinerator. Just my opinion of course. Jeff
  17. I remember hiring Super Wings from Wing Line Cruisers up the top end of the dyke near the Yare pub. That would have been back in the 70's Jeff
  18. I suppose that there is always the chance that Richardsons will re-open the yard at Acle depending on costs of course Jeff
  19. Looking at the menu and the charges that go with it I would estimate that the baked beans work out at about 10pence each lol Jeff
  20. Is that a forward facing camera as well? Jeff
  21. Lets hope that if we ask nicely Clive will do us a weekly update on the progress when building these new boats like the one we got from the building of Broadsman , Carousel etc Jeff
  22. I also remember eagerly awaiting the arrival of the latest brochures. I would read every detail of every boat again and again. If I was asked anything about any boat I could tell mum or dad everything they wanted to know from boatyard to size to layout and the names and details of any similar boats. I would also be able to tell them if they had moved from one boatyard to another It certainly kept me busy during the long dark nights of winter Jeff
  23. You must be joking!!!!!!! The sooner everything gets back to "normal" the better Jeff
  24. Good that you have started your Christmas shopping Gracie, My wife has spent a lot of time over the last 5 or 6 days wrapping prezzies {and still has loads to do} !!!! Jeff {Looking forward to 2nd of Jan as usual}
  25. Hi Gracie, So very nice to have you back. Hope you are keeping very well. I was looking at these houseboats on line a couple of days ago thinking of next year. I will be on a land based hol at stalham this time tomorrow with fishing rod in hand Hope to hear more from you soon Jeff
