  1. Best part he told me was he got invited to watch the filming of Casino Royale where they flipped multiple ( and it was a lot of real ones) Aston Martins where Bond Chase after Vesper. I would have loved that bit
  2. I met an Aston collector in the lounge at San Diego airport once, he had 12 of them, I asked what is it you do for a living “oh I buy and sell aeroplanes for airlines” he said. I only smirked a little bit when we entered the plane as I was lead to my seat and he turned right into business class. OK I smirked a lot….
  3. I hear pre owned Astons do a roaring trade..
  4. James Paget university hospital is wonderful, the staff were amazing, I was alone, not doing well and they were there really caring I was not left alone unless I was sleeping was lovely. Couldn’t hug them as I came down with shingles at 06:00 this am just to cap off the horriblest week. The tea lady was my fav by far gold
  5. Anyone had a better my day than that one lol 😆
  6. They let me go after my inflammatory markers went down and two full days worth of IV antibiotics, gentamicin and coamoxiclav ( augmentin to the over 35s.) and my temp dropped early doors this am 03:00 or so to 36 from 39.9 they were worried at 39.9 and so was I.had my last I’ve push fluids stopped at 02:0 followed by 20ml IV Coamoxiclav ( which stung A LOT) Finally got out at 15:50 Got to boatyard at 16:38 and drove gingerly stopping every 35 mins for a pee home. Happily in bed now night all. many thanks for your thoughts and very kind wishes..
  7. Trip went downhill Tuesday sleep. Couldn’t wee and had really bad chills. Rang NHS111 weds am 08:36. well at 10:23 we reached ludham bridge, 111 lady was promising to stay on the line as the amburance came. long and short of it two kidney stones and a bladder infection revealed by a CT scan in James Pajet hospital good news Justin is now home bad news below. I’m not…. May get away with Saturday pm temp this am 39.9
  8. Not working for me either. I load it differently tomorrow. My son shot it in cinematic mode ( he’s a very good cinematographer and video maker) M
  9. Off to a nice sunny if windy start. Was showing just over 6 ft on gauge, a little IMO underpowered with a new Nani but fun either way. FullSizeRender.MOV
  10. If you saw Silver Jubilee 1 as well that was us ….
  11. Pictures man images otherwise I have to use my imagination of Howard in speedos
  12. Having been towed through Wroxham bridge last summer at 6ft 5 with zero steerage I can’t wait to take the old lady to Horsey. I remember when 7ft 3 used to worry me. In the face of adversity and so forth.
  13. Prop size and angle too Poll. Malanka’s 2.8 L BMC rarely gets above Rickover oop north, zero stress on engine so she “pootles” a lot further than most on a litre….
  14. More being restored video from last week. Lovely to see the new planks in situ. A2E21EE5-9376-44B4-A43E-F2BD9F9115BF.MOV
  15. I too have just swapped my winters for the summer versions. Winter tyres love wet roads and stick like glue in very wet conditions we used to produce a huge rooster tail of spray out the back of the voyager fitted with winters. I also remember cruising past a vehicle of the boys in black on the A47 in the winter of 2011, we were in a black grande espace limited edition fitted with winter tyres, everyone including the plod were sticking to the left lane where all the compacted snow was, we stuck to the outside lane in the fresh snow with relatively better grip and no numpties in front or to the rear. Compacted snow bad fresh snow good, I had expected plod to know that. The look they gave us was daggers which I really enjoyed, the Belgian plates probably put them off from interfering.
  16. Dear forumites, I have been trying to call the pub all day! Anyone know if they’re still open?
  17. Sorry we missed it. Boris is too poorly to be left alone or let out by our usual dog sitter. He should be in better order for august though way before Malanka will be I might add. Love to all. To make up for it we cooked dinner on the boat barbecue this evening. It’s smelled of old wood and diesel. Lol 😝 bit like me .
  18. The max I ever did was 178 with Fiona in the car. I never went that fast just me as it didn’t balance correctly Theoretically she would do 195mph, however it was much more fun bouncing Porsche 911 turbos, and any BMW 7 series. The supercharger was amazing, thing whined like a banshee over 160mph. 575bhp from 5 L V 8 lump aluminium all over the shop and composite material panels, wheel arch vents that actually vented the wheel arch over pressure. She was 2.5 years of middle aged madness. 56A89BDC-9FE4-4C20-886D-6965579EB045.MOV
  19. Lowest economy I ever got in the SVR was something like 40l per 100km, however I was doing 160mph + down the A5 in Germany, Ohne Geschwindigkeit controlle naturlich.
  20. His Surgery is scheduled for week after next. Surgeon is on holiday next week. I believe it’s called TPLO. M
  21. Woo hoo another one, can’t wait to see everything. welcome and my advice is enjoy. Simples. M
  22. Loving this thread. As some may know we have had issues with drive plates and so on😁😩. That said talk of 2000rpm make me smile, as Malanka can lift her skirts when she wants and she easily reaches her waterline length boatspeed. Usually showing roughly 1300rpm flat out before we get cavitation and lose speed. 4mph is approx 450/550 rpm depending on winter or summer lol. She weighs a lot, her original weight stamp is still there at 9 tons and several tons have been added since then ( saddle water tanks, huge diesel tank, two black water tanks and the biggest addition of all is the massive 3.8L BMC commander engine. Originally 79hp but less now although a lot nearer since the flooding incident where over 10l of water was flushed out lol. It took seven flushes to get it all. Ask Doug what she feels like to helm all I can say is that on tickover you can feel the prop turning and she will turn in her own length when hard over, which I will demonstrate for the disbelievers when she again has a wet bottom, or even a bottom to get wet… lol 😂 She is also incredibly thrifty with diesel we usually cruise two full weeks between fills up. All we need now is to get her planks in and repainted etc, gnawing my arm off to get afloat here…
  23. Ok follow up to yesterday: First interview has come back with another one tomorrow afternoon via teams of course. Second interview has come back with a CDA for me to sign so we can have a more detailed chat in another interview, it’s also moved from interim to permanent. Or leading to permanent via a shorter process. So we are two for two so far which is good. I decided years ago just to be myself and let my experience and career speak for itself. Seems to be working. Bobo is not allowed out except on a lead even in the garden.
