  1. As most of you know , we are moored in Richos wetshed , Richardsons have a strict no outside contractors rule (with a few exceptions) to this end , does anyone know , or have , a mooring with electricity and water which I could hire for a day so as to enable me to get Pipedreams cleaned and polished . I have found a contractor able to do the work and they have full insurance etc in place Edited to add on the northern rivers
  2. I notice elsewhere that Sherz and Lynz have just had another holiday afloat on The Broads and I await their next YouTube offering eagerly , their videos are always amusing and informative .
  3. I can confirm that I have found Daniel to be very good and reliable whenever we have used him both on Pipedreams and Cerise Lady
  4. I remember eagerly awaiting “London Rascals” next adventure in the days when he used to hire , his videos were always informative, amusing (especially his hot dog tin episode) and entertaining , his videos as a boat owner and his car adventures followed in a similar vein ; many of the new regular YouTubers could learn a lot from watching his back catalogue .
  5. With the public thirst for videos of others mishaps I can only see the current trend worsening , what is in-fact a relatively rare occurrence is being seen as commonplace and will certainly lead to some families considering a Broads holiday afloat to look elsewhere . If the two main protagonists happen to read the forum I would invite them to perhaps instead of spending a day awaiting such occurrences at Ludham bridge , spend a day filming those families moored up somewhere like Salhouse Broad , or Ranworth where the loudest sound is often children’s laughter .
  6. Back home now after a wonderful weekend afloat , good weather and great company . The weather changed overnight and the winds were blustery and when we approached the wetshed rain started , almost akin to hail, certainly a chill in the air . Cambridge suffered a big storm early morning today , according to my son, with torrential hail ; it’s now chilly but sunny and the wind occasionally gusts . Off to work now 😔, but afloat again very soon
  7. We passed you as you were on your final leg to Stalham Saturday morning , we did wave 👋🏻
  8. If anybody else is hoping to attend the meet and wish a mooring booking to be placed please let us know as we have to finalise booking details/numbers with Salhouse
  9. Excellent lunch in The Swan , Timothy Taylor well kept too
  10. Left Ranworth early doors (08:00) , slow doodle upstream and managed to slot into Horning Green , Bramble had her morning “zoomies” at the park , bacon sandwich for brekkie and booked into the Swan for Sunday roast
  11. Certainly open all day today , I’ll ask Steve is open during the week and post on here if it is
  12. Or a few glasses of Ricard on Pipedreams @ £0:00 , or gin, rum , whiskey and a mooring of £10
  13. Most certainly will be , we were there for the opening a couple of weeks ago and the beer was very good (£5.50 a pint) he has London Pride in this evening I believe
  14. Pipedreams had a little open wallet surgery this week , a new upgraded alternator (then you Daniel Austrin for your prompt service) , we spend last night in The Crown and had the wonderful surprise of Gary , Charlotte and Oscar being there when we arrived . After much deliberation where to go we are now moored up in “The taxi rank” , chairs out enjoying a warm day.
  15. Do we start calling Griff Enid Sharples then ?
  16. The simple answer is that the population is growing quicker than available properties , people are living longer the family unit is different , children tend to fly the nest earlier it is now unusual for three generations to live under one roof ; all of these have attributed to housing shortage if you add to that the net growth of population due to high immigration as the world keeps shrinking , then lack of accommodation is inevitable . Since the 70’s we have seen the world change dramatically the collapse of the former USSR saw huge movements of people in Western Europe , The U.K. is now very much a nation of many nations , and IMHO it’s what make this country still GREAT Britain .
  17. Whilst I agree that £4 for water top up seems excessive I can understand why the current owner feels the need to charge this much , firstly the cost of purchasing the equipment which was made necessary as the previous honesty box payments were far less than the actual water costs and the need to recoup monies lost by previous non payment. This was told to me by the current owner/operator when he installed the meters. So yes £4 is excessive but if the end users had been honest and paid the former £2 charge when they used the facilities the meters wouldn’t be in place and the cost would have been lower.
  18. There is an episode of “Extraordinay Escapes with Sandi Toksvig” that features Hunsett Mill too
  19. We are still seeking someone to lead the C in C , any volunteers ?
  20. “Dont tell him Pike”
