  3. “Dont tell him Pike”
  4. When my car got stolen in 2021 , Tesco insurance were excellent , 12 weeks after my loss they paid me market price (£34,500) no quibbles
  5. “Blue sky thinking” is my pet hate expression , I dislike it almost as much as the use of text speak and / or writing in such a way
  6. Agreed , @grendel would you be able to move the you tube discussions over to the YouTube thread please ?
  7. Sadly , without this type of footage these channels would not have got the viewing figures they have and may well have been abandoned . Whilst I too dislike the bumps/mishaps etc, the rest of the footage I find most enjoyable and would be saddened to see them go
  8. At least you have the option of mooring in NBD or Barnes foc if you wish to visit Wroxham
  9. You also have to remember that the air draught on the majority of hire boats is higher compared to the 60’s . B.A. proved on her last outing that Wroxham bridge is “doable” with the correctly designed boat , that said Potter Heigham seems to thwart even the best designed boats nowadays
  10. The scouts have hired 17 Hunters sailing boats for the weekend which explains the many sailing boats travelling upstream on the Ant
  11. Welcome Alison , hope to read of your exploits soon
  12. After a most sociable evening and day yesterday in Neil’s company we left Ranworth at 09:30 this morning (08:30 in old money) and decided to see if Horning were an option , staithe was full sadly (with a certain Hampton neatly tucked into the favoured spot just before The Swan moorings ) so about turn , slow cruise , up the Ant and under Ludham (showing a smidgeon under 8” on the board) and we came to rest at How Hill in the dog leg just before the Hathor mooring spot. Decided that we would stay put as it’s a glorious mooring , Bramble had a boisterous game of ball on the lawned area of How Hill House , unfortunately she has recharged now !!!! Kate passed up going downstream , it’s good to see Springers Retreat on her travels again . Dinner tonight is fish pie and French beans , washed down with a few glasses of wine , up early in the morning as I’m working tomorrow 😢, back in a couple of weeks though 😊
  13. The Rangers , mooring attendants were there from last weekend , f.o.c mooring until April 1st though
  14. Certainly a good turn out for the reopening
  15. Staithe now full , good to see
  16. All moored up awaiting The Maltsters grand reopening
  17. Schuuuuuush , don’t tell everyone
  18. And there was me thinking the fishing season was over
  19. £405 sounds about right , 1/12 @ £61.50 and admin costs of £343.50 based on the not inconsiderable staffing levels at Yare House
  20. Pop in and see our own Maurice Minor too 🤣🤣🤣
  21. I’ll wave if I see them , and check the fenders are up
  22. If booking for October I would agree that a centre cockpit would be more advisable for passage through Ludham , boats such as Bolero have a true air draught of approx 8ft 3” with everything folded and that air draught would not have got under Ludham this year in October at all
