  1. I think it was Jackson leisure I got my fridge from and if bought together it came ready fitted.
  2. With a danfoss compressor fridge you can also get a modified controller which uses a different thermostat and changes the behaviour depending on voltage available, I have it and it works well but took total fridge cost to nearly £700! In use you crank it up full and when the volts are up at charging level (shore power or engine running) it drops the contents down to 1 degree so not quite frozen and uses the contents as cold storage, when volts drop it will let it get to 7 degrees and run compressor at lower speeds to conserve power.
  3. I've used a chainsaw many times and found the best h&s clothing to be an old pair of deck shoes shorts and t-shirt, it keeps the mind focused.
  4. Good compressor fridges are fairly quiet and the kindest on batteries (except gas but don't go there), thermo electric cool boxes hammer batteries and don't cool much at all and only for while running. Portable compressor fridge may be the way to go as you be chilling down in the car on the way to the boat. Older compressor fridges are nowhere as efficient on power as the modern ones, look for danfoss compressor in the specs as they are the best option. 3 way fridges (gas/12v/240v) are OK on gas and shore power but battery killers on 12v.
  5. Must have been more than the one drink looking at the way you hold your ice cream, I'm surprised it didn't fall off.
  6. It beggars belief to me the new builds should a car charger but no requirement for solar, even if not south facing they can still do fairly well. Admittedly we did really well with ours as the fit rate was halving so installation costs dropped to make them viable, in between signing and fitting the government got forced to backtrack and we got the full fit tariff for the cheaper install, the salesman said if we were lucky it would take them a few months to change the meter from the spinny disc type, 11 years on we still have the old meter.
  7. They don't normally make it this far, have reserved a space for your breakdown truck? That said my tdm850 is on a classic policy and it's 2000. Are we just getting old as well as grumpy?
  8. Zebedee's not a classic car surely?
  9. Never mind beans, I like a good stout and have to say their emissions are hideous, that said hydrogen sulphide is way below methane in greenhouse terms... Did I mention I'm filling my own 4.5kg gas bottles? Don't expect the waft of bacon butties without an aftershock.
  10. Catalytic converters are never going to cope with sea water being chucked through them, boat exhausts are just not like car exhausts. And pumping sea water through is effectively a dpf.
  11. At least hitting both cabled gives it no reason to run through the drill and operator, anything less that 20 years old will be double insulated anyway at a guess.
  12. I bet you believe in fairies too.
  13. Congrats, before too much of a refit use it and see what you really want to change, it's amazing what you can get used to and adapt to that you may have ripped out and spent a grand replacing.
  14. The bss says if it's electric it must be fused, other than that it's not bss's business.
  15. Only hermitage on the old west/great ouse and denver sluice, both the tidal ones, salters lode onto the middle levels is also manned.
  16. If you'd called in "wine bar" you'd have her as a lodger.
  17. Must of been a tight squeeze.
  18. Enjoy! But hold your breath past the sugar beet factory on the wissey. The ends of the smaller rivers are lovely but can be a bit like a ditch on the lower stretches as much of them were man made, there's roman and monastic bits so everyone in the last 2000 years has played with them. If you can get under the bridge at Brandon creek the guy just up there always used to be cheap for diesel.
  19. As a wee bratling we had a mature apple tree that always fruited well, then we got a goat... The goat could climb the tree better than me or my sister and had a taste for apple tree bark, when we moved the tree was long dead, the goat also ate a shed and an 8x4 sheet of polythene... One time my old man came back from the pub Sunday lunchtime and threatened to cut the grass shortly after he flipped the wheelbarrow around and sat in it while he had a cup of tea and rolled a fag, when he woke up the dog had drunk his tea and the goat had ate his baccy..... If you need a plant dispatching get a goat, nothing survives.
  20. What did the family do to deserve shooting? Short list will do.
  21. I've hacked a Budleigh down to ground level and had a bonfire on the spot a good few times, it's still doing fine.
  22. That was my plan but beer and rum made me do it, honesht occifer.
  23. So when do we get to see the piccies of you in your new school uniform then?
  24. You gotta love chinglish descriptions.
