  1. The items removed were attached perminantly (or so I thought) The boat is checked at regular periods by myself and others however the last 18 months has seen an increase in theft and vandalism of the boats moored in this area with little or no action taken other than other boat users for which I am very grateful. I have now been subjected to this twice and To expect any form of result from reporting the incident is a bit like hoping to win the lottery as I am still waiting to be contacted as described in the acknowlagement email which set a time line as in due course. Does that mean when the suspects have moved on and witnesses have no recollection.
  2. Has anyone any recommendations for knowlagable skilled person in Oulton Broad area to adjust and set up a solex carb on Volvo penta Aq115. I am now in slightly better health and have worked out the previously reported HT lead order but am keen to move the boat ASAP given the successive theft and damage.
  3. I like the term immediately I was only alerted by social media a day after the event the boat next to me I hope will have been told by now ( the yacht station staff were unclear if this would happen) and so now 2 days late I am still waiting for the police to get back to me so I can provide details of witnesses and the management team of the moorings about moving to alternative site at Beccles
  4. Warning to all at Oulton Broad people are reported to be climbing over and entering boats moored at Colemans. I yesterday found that yet again Having been in hospital I have been a victim, this time losing a gimbal compass and tools of which I am aware . With hindsight I think the mud weight and some fenders are also missing with further checks to be undertaken. Very ineffective response from Yacht station staff despite some.boats apparently being untied and left to gain access.
  5. Just to keep you all amused I sorted out the firing order and top dead centre I even got it to start up although in very high revs so obviously a tweet or two required on the carb mixture. I am however presently laid up in the Norfolk and Norwich hospital having had a suspected heart attack so the additional rule must be learn when enough is enough
  6. 4th rule acourding to an old mate of mine is "don't bloody touch anything"
  7. Thanks to everyone for the advice so far I had to admit defeat on Tuesday as I had run out of ideas, time and body strength all at the same time. However I have following several people's advice learned (1) How to find TDC (springs up push rods down) (2) Firing orders and not to take all the leads off without marking them (3) Fitting and checking of points and plugs. (need to buy a new feeler gauge with numbers on I can read) I feel convinced that I will resolve the issue on my next day off or die trying thanks again to all for the up dates and will check the petrol situation next. Fingers crossed.
  8. Ive got a kit which I'm going to try next I've changed the plugs points and condenser. I've found tdc till my arms hurt and the rocker box has been on and off like a traffic light. There is petrol in the lines but apart from a momentary cough not a sausage
  9. Thank you all me and my Birchwood are going to be busy boys tomorrow I will let you know how I get on or not. I just want to get her up and running again and get back out there it's been to long and there is building pressure from management to get rid which is getting harder to argue with.
  10. Thanks to you both for the help and advice. i can just about manage the plugs and points but will need to find the timing point on the engine. The flywheel has already been marked. I am woundering if the different firing order Grendel suggests is for the anti clockwise dizzy although everything I've read says 1,3,4,2 may need to try both.
  11. I never took the dizzy out just removed the cap and leads. There was clearly some misfiring but having played find the lady with the order of the leads it won't even do that now. I have brought the battery home for charging and will head down to Oulton Broad again tomorrow for another try
  12. The firing order is the same as written on rocker box cover is this the same if the rotation of distributor is anti clockwise
  13. Hello all after a period of work and illness I have finally got back down the boat but found the old girl ran very rough at idle. As I blindly attempted to correct this I foolishly removed the leads without marking them on the dizzy. I am now lost in a sea of top dead centre exaust and compression stroke could someone please advise
